The Sermon
Peggy, Vicki, Clift, Vinny & Joann at Survivors of Cancer benefit @ Lighthouse Pointe
A visiting minister waxed eloquent during the offertory prayer. He began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face,”Without you we are but dust... “ He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter (who was listening!) leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little girl voice, “Mom, what is butt dust?”

This guy suspects his wife is cheating on him. He comes home early and she meets him at the door in a bathrobe, her hair a mess. “Where is he?” he shouts. “Where’s the guy who’s been sleeping with you?” “I don’t know what you’re talking about” she says so he tears the house apart looking for this guy. Finally he’s on the second floor, in the kitchen, he looks out the window and sees some guy sitting in a Volkswagen. “Aha!” he thinks, “That’s the guy who’s been sleeping with my wife.” He’s so furious he picks up the refrigerator, throws it out the window at the guy, has a heart attack and dies. So St. Peter meets him at the gates of Heaven and asks “What are you doing here?” The guy says “Well, I knew my wife was cheating on me so I came home early from work, saw him sitting in his Volkswagen out on the street, threw the refrigerator at him, I had a heart attack and died.” St. Peter says “You don’t belong here; go to Hell.” He pulls a big lever, a trap door opens up and the guy disappears. A few minutes later another guy comes up to St. Peter at the gates of Heaven. St. Peter asks “What are you doing here?” The guy says “I don’t know! I was just sitting in my Volkswagen, minding my own business, when suddenly somebody throws a refrigerator at me.” St. Peter wags his finger and says “I heard about you... you go to Hell too.” He pulls the lever and the guy disappears. A few minutes later another guy comes up to St. Peter at the gates of Heaven. St. Peter asks “What are you doing here?” The guy says “I don’t know! I was just sitting in a refrigerator, minding my own business...”

A drunk man who smelled like beer sat down on a subway seat next to a priest. The man’s tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked,” Say, Father, what causes arthritis?”
Call (609) 334-2892 Residential & Commercial
“My Son, it’s caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, a contempt for your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes and lack of bath.” “Well, I’ll be damned,” the drunk muttered, returning to his paper. The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. “I’m very sorry. I didn’t mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?” “I don’t have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does.”

Is God Real? An atheist professor was teaching a college class at Alabama and he told the class that he was going to prove that there is no God. He said, “God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I’ll give you 15 minutes!” Ten minutes went by. He kept taunting God, saying, “Here I am, God. I’m still waiting.” He got down to the last couple of minutes and a big 240 pound football player in the class walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him flying from his platform. The professor struggled up, obviously shaken and yelled, “What’s the matter with you? Why did you do that?” The football player replied, “GOD WAS BUSY; HE SENT ME!”

Senator Robert Menendez visit to the Wildwoods on August 13, 2010 accomplished a few things. He spoke to many veterans in front of the Viet Nam wall, placed a wreath in front of the wall and viewed the boardwalk stopping at Sam’s Pizza to have slice of the boardwalk pizza, walk through Mariner’s landing pier and take a walk on North Wildwood’s dune replenishment project. One of the reasons that the Wildwood Commissioners wanted the senator to see the activity on the boardwalk was to gain support for the reconstruction of the 50 year old boardwalk at $2,800,000 per block for 26 blocks. Replacing the existing boardwalk will help ensure visitors will return shop and enjoy the boardwalk for years to come thus creating jobs and stimulating private investment.

10 Hilarious Yet Ingenious Solutions To Everyday Problems Water bowl to slow down bus drivers A bus company in China has launched a new ‘drive safely’ campaign - by hanging big bowls of water next to their drivers. The Longxiang Public Bus Company in Changsha, Hunan province, says drivers must drive gently to avoid spilling any water.Bus drivers are expected to ensure the bowls are still full when they finish their shift. And the company warns drivers that CCTV footage will be studied to make sure they do not top up the bowls with water.
Poodle outfit to make your sweet Doberman less feared Are you sick of your sweet, big, Doberman being feared? Well, worry no longer, AttackChi will be making disguises for all the so called dangerous breeds. For instance, you can get your cute Doberman a poodle transformation. Just be careful, dressing up your dog will increase the chance of it biting you.
Eco toilet to fertilize the field Once upon a time, there was a lazy farmer who hated the job of fertilizing most of all. One day he invented this poopy. By moving the chair a foot or so each day, he was eventually able to enrich the soil of his entire acreage while he did his morning Sudoku.
Striped painted donkeys to compensate the lack of zebras in the zoo There were two crowd-pulling zebras in the Marah Land Zoo, who unfortunately died of hunger. Since they were one of the main attractions of the zoo, which boasts a dozen animals, and there was no money to replace the dead animals, the zookeepers were very concerned, until they came up with an unusual solution. Now there are two white donkeys dyed with black stripes to delight Palestinian kids at a small Gaza zoo. With their long ears, drooping heads and sleepy eyes, the impostors probably would not have fooled the zoo’s only lioness. But the effect achieved by the zoo owners’ dye job looks not so bad — to the unpracticed eye, and from a distance. The two female donkeys were striped using masking tape and women’s hair dye, applied with a paintbrush. A genuine zebra would have been too expensive to bring into Israel-blockaded Gaza via smuggling tunnels under the border with Egypt, around $40,000 to get a real one.Gaza’s Palestinians are impoverished by their isolation under an Israeli embargo against its Islamist Hamas rulers, who refuse to give up armed resistance against the Jewish state.

Zip holder to prevent your fly coming open The problem of your fly accidentally coming open really only dates back to the invention of the zipper. But even if it’s not an ‘age old’ problem, it’s still a problem, particularly if it’s ever happened to you. So this simple solution created by Lisa Sjövall seems so obvious that you have to wonder why it hasn’t been thought of or even incorporated into pants already. The ZipHolder is basically an elastic loop that fastens to the pull tag on your zipper. When it’s done up, the loop is placed around the button on your fly which prevents the zipper from accidentally coming open. A tree urinal to solve ‘urgent’ problems and reduce chemical pollution Although at first glance this concept does not seem to be fair for women’s needs, the good news is that the P-Tree can reduce the queue at the porta-pottie. The inventor suggests that it can be hooked up to a central sewer system, but an onsite infiltration system would be a great way to safely dispose of the liquid and nourish the trees with nitrogen at the same time! This would reduce the chemical and waste processing involved at public events. As for using the P-Tree at your next happening – we suggest looking into your local indecent exposure laws first. Bike-Powered Lawnmower to ease the mowing job If you saw one reel lawnmower attached to a bike, you might think the person who invented it was extremely creative – which would, of course, be true. But there are so many of these contraptions out there that it’s nearly reached phenomenon status.
A duct- tape to avoid embarrassing views Are you tired of sitting down but worrying about your butt crack? Worry no more, this duct-tape is all you need to avoid showing too much of your ‘derriere’.
A traveler’s phrasebook t-shirt to help communication in trips with different languages No one wants to be the stereotypical tourist when traveling, fumbling through phrasebooks in an attempt to find the right thing to say so you can find your way around. So here’s a rather simple and elegant solution to the language barrier, created by Art Lebedev. All you have to do is get a local’s attention, point at what you’re looking for and then point to the question mark. (A confused shrug should work too.) It’s probably a good idea not to wear something over the tee though, as grabbing a stranger’s attention and then proceeding to undress in front of them may not be a graciously accepted custom around the world. A low-budget antitheft device to secure your car No money for those expensive gadgets you see on tv and can’t afford insurance? Problem solved with this locker.

The Girl Around Town By Natalie Cooper
All summer it’s been a routine of mine to go out to dinner with my friend on our one night a week off from work. Although usually on Tuesdays, this week we switched it up with a Monday. So Monday afternoon, my friend called me and told me to get ready for dinner. Most of the time we decide on a place to eat together, but this time she had already decided. “Duffy’s on the Lake,” she said. There was a pause on the phone for a few seconds before I responded. “Seriously?” “Why not?” she said. “I just didn’t think you’d want to eat there, that’s all.” “Pick you up in five,” she said. Then she hung up. As we were driving down New Jersey Ave on our way to Duffy’s, I asked her again what made her decide to eat there. “You’ve worked there for a million years. Don’t you want to try somewhere new?” “That’s the best part,” she said. “That you can go back and see all the people you know, eat the food you love and watch the action going on in front of Sunset Lake. Anyway, they have the best sunset on the island.” I couldn’t argue with any of those points, agreeing with what she said. She had a point. We pulled up to Duffy’s to a line of people wrapped around the building, people sitting on the benches and crowding the stairs to the front door. We made our way past the crowds and in the door to the hostess—one of our old and good friends. We were greeted with a smile and a little small talk before the rest of the staff—mostly all old friends—came over to say hello, and before we knew it, we were creating a traffic jam of our own in the waiting area. We got hooked up with a window seat in the left hand corner of the restaurant, with a perfect view of Sunset Lake. With the sound of the cups hitting the table as the waitress put our drinks down, my friend was placing her dinner order without even opening the menu. “Shrimp and cavatelli with crab, please,” she said. “Nat, you’ve got to try this. You’re gonna cry at how good it is.” I decided to do it up big and order the filet with sautéed zucchini. And a twice-baked potato. Yes, twice-baked. As my friend chatted it up with our waitress, I tookWeeka look around Welcome Irish the restaurant. It was packed, but not so in a rushed, annoying sort of way. Everyone was enjoying his or her meal…the atmosphere. An older couple Closed 9/22the&table 9/25 at the table in front of us held hands across as they slurped their Fri.-Sat.-Sun. 10/3, 10/5 soups, and toOpen our right, a little boy was playing with10/4 his toy & trucks, riding them back and forth across the table, while the rest of his family laughed and conversed over the bottle of red wine theyCOUPON brought. Our food came out just in time—just in time before I started FREE eating the silverware and just in time for the sun to start setting. So we sat and3:30-5:30pm ate and watched the sun lower and cast out its colors over the lake. Taking the last bite of my twice-baked potato, after devouring $ of steak 95on my plate, I was finally able to squeeze a few every singleatpiece starting words in between mouthfuls. Present when ordering. 3516 Atlantic Avenue, “You’re right,” I said. “This place legit—good friends, Good is only with purchase of good meal. Onewhat per person. food, good atmosphere. Especially goodadult sunset. Now are we having Wildwood Not valid with other offers, for dessert?” Early birds or take out.
