I was in the restaurant yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to pass gas. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my gas with the beat of the music. After a couple of songs, I started to feel better. I finished my coffee, and noticed that everybody was staring at me.... Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod.
I always take life with a grain of salt, ...plus a slice of lemon, ...and a shot of tequila.

PARTY W RLD
1167 Route 9 S. • Cape May Court House, NJ
A man gets home early from work and hears strange noises coming from the bedroom. He rushes upstairs to find his wife naked on the bed, sweating and panting. “What’s up?” he says. “I’m having a heart attack,” cries the woman. He rushes downstairs to grab the phone for ambulance, but just as he’s dialing, his 4-year-old son comes up and says, “Daddy! Daddy! Uncle Fred is hiding in your closet and he’s got no clothes on!” The man slams the phone down and storms upstairs into the bedroom, past his screaming wife, and rips open the wardrobe door. Sure enough, there is his brother, totally naked, covering on the closet floor. “You idiot,” the man says,” my wife is having a heart attack and you’re running around naked scaring the kids!”

FAREWELL TO A FRIEND Legendary “Wipe Out” To Slide into History... Today, the Morey’s Piers amusement empire encompasses three piers and hundreds of attractions along the Wildwood Boardwalk. But, it all started with the installation of a relatively simple fiberglass slide in 1969. For over four decades the Wipe Out has delighted riders - young and old alike - while serving as one of the island’s most recognizable landmarks. Around this longtime favorite, the Morey family developed Surfside Pier, which today includes the Nor’Easter inverted coaster, the Zoom Phloom, and AtmosFEAR drop tower. Such complex, thrill-a-second attractions could not have been fathomed 41 years ago. But, the instant and endearing popularity of the Wipe Out made it all possible. The success of Surfside Pier eventually allowed the Moreys to purchase the old Marine Pier amusement center and transform it into Mariner’s Landing. During the mid-80s, the iconic Sea Serpent steel coaster and Giant Wheel debuted on the pier, signaling the family’s rise to the zenith of the Wildwoods’ amusement scene. Several years later, Fun Pier was acquired. Today, the more recently dubbed Adventure Pier is best known as the home of the Great White wooden coaster. Looking back over history, it’s impossible to downplay the importance the Wipe Out has played in the evolution of the Boardwalk as we know it. Which is just part of the reason why this weekend’s season closing festivities at the piers will be so bittersweet. The Wipeout will soon be dismantled, as space will be cleared for work to begin on a future attraction. While no official word has come yet, this appears to be the next step toward preparation of the construction of a wooden mega-coaster that will span Surfside and the adjacent Hunt’s Pier, traveling over the beach in between. On Sunday, the Moreys will say goodbye to the ride that “started it all” with a farewell celebration from noon to 2 p.m. at Surfside Pier. According to a press release, the event “will include photo opportunities, a ‘Memory Lane’ display of historical images, and an exhibit of future attractions. Morey mascot, Sunny C. Gull, will be on hand, and all attendees will receive a complimentary memorial postcard.” Additionally, 200 individuals can win a “last chance” opportunity to slide down the Wipe Out via an online lottery system. Orders will also be taken for a memorial piece, available for $50 each. Proceeds will be donated to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) archive preservation fund. See www.moreyspiers.com for more information. The release concludes: “The farewell ceremony will mark 42 years since brothers Bill and Will Morey spotted a giant 12-lane fiberglass slide operating near a shopping center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in the fall of 1968. Inspired by what they saw, the brothers purchased a similar ride, called it ‘The Wipe Out’ and officially entered a life long passion in the amusement business.” We hope to see you on Sunday as the community celebrates the legacy of this great attraction! A Look into the Future...

A young brunette goes into the doctor’s office and says that her body hurts wherever she touches it. “Impossible,” says the doctor. “Show me.” She takes her finger and pushes her elbow and screams in agony. She pushes her knee and screams, pushes her ankle and screams and so on it goes. The doctor says, “You’re not really a brunette are you?” She says, “No, I’m really a blonde.” “I thought so,” he says. “Your finger is broken.”

A man went with his wife on honeymoon and they were getting undressed together for the first time. The man took off his shoes and socks and his toes were all twisted and discolored. “What happened to your feet?” his wife asked. “I had a childhood disease called Tolio.” “Don’t you mean polio?” “No, tolio, it only affects the toes.” Men then removed his pants and revealed an awful-looking pair of knees. “What happened to your knees?” she asked. “Well, I also had Kneesles.” “Don’t you mean measles?” “No, kneesles, it only affects the knees.” When he removed his shorts, his wife gasped and said, “Don’t tell me, you also had Smallcox!”

A guy with bright blue, green and orange color hair was standing at a bus stop. Few moments later an elderly man stood near him and kept staring at him hard. Last weeks cover sparked some calls from people asking what ever happened to the iconic George the Gorilla. We checked around and forund this article. Reprinted from roadsideamerica.com
Everyone remembers Mighty Joe, either the man or the gorilla. We remember the gorilla. When we first saw Mighty Joe he was named “George” and he stood 25 feet above a South Jersey go-kart track. Others knew him from even earlier times, when he towered over the beachfront boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey as “Kongo-Pongo” and “Magilla.” George was in sad shape when we first met, pitched forward onto his mighty gorilla fists because his feet had buckled in a storm. And it turns out that we weren’t the only ones who were noticing George. Larry Valenzano did, too, driving on Hwy 47 to and from his Wildwood beach house. The gorilla, he said, “Always reminded me of my son.” The younger Valenzano was a former body builder nicknamed “Mighty Joe” who died of a brain tumor in 1999. Larry, heartbroken, renamed his gas station “Mighty Joe’s” in his son’s honor. Then he bought the big gorilla to serve as a memorial and a mascot. “My wife thought I was crazy,” Larry said. “She told me, ‘That guy’s not gonna sell you that gorilla. You’re out of your mind. What makes you think he would sell that to you?’”
Outside Wildwood in 2003, George tottered on broken feet.
But the guy did sell Larry the gorilla, bypassing 15 higher bidders. “’I don’t need the money,’” Larry remembered him saying at the time. “’And the reason you want it is more important.’”
Mighty Joe and his message.
It almost didn’t matter, because while Larry was figuring out how to ship the gorilla to his gas station, someone showed up at the go-kart track and tried to steal it. “I think they were from a [mini-]golf course in Ocean City,” Larry said. “The owner chased them off the property. They probably would have painted it pink.”
Larry finally figured out how to haul the gorilla cross-state, and after six months in a repair shop, Mighty Joe was unveiled in 2004. It cost Larry five times as much to fix him as it cost to buy him. But that was still peanuts, or banana chips, compared to the $50,000 that it originally cost to build the gorilla in Spain, at least according to people who’ve stopped at Mighty Joe’s and told that to Larry. The gorilla stands on the south side of the gas station parking lot, inside a white metal fence, his scowling mug set against a backdrop of South Jersey pine trees and blue sky. Joe’s looking spiffy these days -- his eyes, mouth, and even his fingernails have been given fresh coats of paint that gleam against his flat black fiberglass fur. A hole in his chest, which once held a rickety slide, has been covered with a sign. “Hello, my name is Mighty Joe,” it says. “My job is to look up to heaven from time to time and say, ‘HEY, JOE, WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.’” George’s current address:1231 Route 206, Shamong, NJ

A precious little girl walks into a Pets Mart Shop and asks, in the sweetest little lisp, between two missing teeth, “Excuthe me, mithter, do you keep widdle wabbits?” As the shopkeeper’s heart melts, he gets down on his knees so that he’s on her level and asks, “Do you want a widdle white wabbit, or a thoft and fuwwy, bwack wabbit, or maybe one like that cute widdle bwown wabbit over there?” She, in turn, blushes, rocks on her heels, puts her hands on her knees, leans forward and says, in a tiny quiet voice, “I don’t think my python weally gives a thit !!”

The Girl Around Town By Natalie Cooper
Last weekend, when I was home, my mom and I spent the whole day together. We went for a walk, we went shopping, we even went to see a chick flick. When the movie let out around 9 PM, we decided we were hungry and wanted to keep the bonding time going, topping our day off by stopping for a bite to eat. My mom suggested we go to a new place on Pacific Ave. She’s been there three times this past month, she said. That’s unusual for my mom unless she really likes the place, and I’m always up for trying somewhere new, so I had no protest. We pulled up outside of Goodfish Grill. Not wanting to be those annoying people who come in ten minutes before the restaurant closes only to sit down and have a fivecourse, two-hour dinner, we checked the hours at the door and noticed the restaurant was open till 11 PM. This was a good thing considering the good-vibe atmosphere surrounding the place and the walkup bar facing Pacific Ave., which grabbed my attention before we even walked in the door. There was no window, no glass covering—just a bar to the left side of the restaurant where one could come in off the street if he or she wanted for a casual drink. Wanting to sit at a table and save the bar experience for another time, my mom and I walked in the door. I immediately took to the inside of the restaurant. It was quaint and charming, with warm brick walls and dimmed lighting. Not too big, the place reminded me of a little nook you would stumble across in New York City—a hole in the wall that you don’t really know about, but you go in anyway because you know those restaurants turn out to be the best restaurants. And when you leave, you’re more than satisfied. The experience and the food leave you amazed as you walk out. That’s how I’d describe Goodfish. It’s small, but welcoming and relaxing, and it serves for an intimate eating experience. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but the waitress didn’t seem to mind. She greeted us as if we were sat at prime-time dinner hours, before explaining their specialty drink menu and some choice appetizers they had on their menu. My mom already knew what appetizer she wanted, having gone before. We ordered “The Painkiller” for a drink, sort of like a pina colada, but with a touch of flair. Our appetizer, the lobster popcorn, came out five minutes later. Now I don’t like seafood. I don’t care what kind it is, where it comes from, how it’s cooked, what it’s breaded in, what sauce comes with it. But I do try everything once, and with my mom’s urging, I popped one in my mouth. Then I popped another one in my mouth, and then another, and then another…enough said. Being the only ones in the place, we decided to order sandwiches for our entrees, and by the time the lobster popcorn digested and our entrees came out, we were starved. I ordered the grilled veggie panini, with asparagus, roasted red peppers, squash and zucchini dipped in a chipotle vinaigrette on bread, and my mom ordered a fried shrimp po boy. We both cleared our plates, leaving maybe only a single fry left. We sat for a little while longer after our waitress took our plates, but she urged us to take our time. We finished our drinks and chatted and caught up, and it was nice. We weren’t rushed; we had great service, matched with great food and great drinks. It was a satisfying experience, and we both left happily and contently. When we finally both walked to the car and got inside, I turned to my mom and told her she always knew how to pick quality places. I’d definitely go there again, maybe three times in a month.
Look for my column every week when I’m . . .

A man was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, “If you kiss me, I’ll turn into a beautiful princess.” He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, “If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will tell everyone how smart and brave you are and how you are my hero” The man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, “If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will be your loving companion for an entire week.” The man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to his pocket. The frog then cried out, “If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I’ll stay with you for a year and do ANYTHING you want.” Again the man took the frog out, smiled at it, and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, “What is the matter? I’ve told you I’m a beautiful princess, that I’ll stay with you for a year and do anything you want. Why won’t you kiss me?” The man said, “Look, I’m a computer programmer. I don’t have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is cool.”
