ANSI HIGH MASS IMPACT TEST

Wiley X ANSI Z87 .1+ frames and lenses must withstand the impact of a 1 .1 lb projectile dropped from a height of 50" to ensure your eyes are protected from unexpected blunt force impacts .

ANSI HIGH VELOCITY IMPACT TEST

Wiley X ANSI Z87 .1+ frames and lenses must withstand the impact of a .25" diameter steel ball . For spectacles the projectile must be traveling 150fps and for a goggle 250fps .

V0 BALLISTICS

Several Wiley X eyewear models are tested to V0 ballistics which consists of a spectacle frame and lens being impacted with a .15 caliber projectile traveling 640-660 fps, or a goggle frame and lens with a .22 caliber projectile traveling 550-560 fps . Wiley X eyewear models that are part of the Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL) are tested to the Alpha version of the V0 ballistics standard which consists of a spectacle frame and lens being impacted with a .15 caliber projectile traveling 700-725fps, or a goggle frame and lens with a .22 caliber projectile traveling 580-590fps . Both tests are meant to simulate shrapnel potentially encountered on the battlefield .

Wiley X Alternative Fit styles are designed for people who have high cheekbones and a shallow nose bridge . By widening the nose bridge, the eyewear sits higher on the face to prevent contact with the cheeks .

ANSI EXPLAINED

ANSI Z87 .1+ is the American National Standard for Occupational and Education Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices . It contains performance specifications, and markings of eye and facial safety products — setting the standards they must meet for protection and category include spectacles, goggles and face shields (among others) . Z87 Designation of the standard . -2 The frames can be fitted with a prescription lens, which is the case with most Wiley X eyewear . + The eyewear frame and lenses have been tested to the High Velocity and High Mass Impact requirements of ANSI Z87 .1+ Safety Standard .

S The lens is a filter or a shaded lens (not clear) .

V The lens is variable-tint photochromic (light adjusting) .

CLICK AIR GASKETS

Click Air Gaskets are designed to shield your eyes from harmful debris, while allowing you the freedom to customize airflow through the gasket to clear fogging . The Click Air Gasket creates resistance against fine dirt particles . Push down on the top of the gasket above the nose bridge to open and increase airflow . Click again and lock it down .

DYNAMIC VENTILATION

Our Dynamic Ventilation system works with the Removable Facial Cavity seals, allowing you to control airflow and reduce fogging . Side vents open to allow air to flow in and behind lenses to clear condensation . Close the side vents to stop airflow .

REMOVABLE FACIAL CAVITY SEALS

Fine dust and pollen, as well as wind, can cause long-term eye irritation, such as Dry Eye Syndrome . Peripheral light can also diminish optical clarity . Wiley X’s removable soft foam Facial Cavity™ Seals block out even the finest irritants and peripheral light, protecting the eyes and allowing polarized lenses to perform at peak levels .

6-BASE ANSI Z87.1+ SIDE SHIELDS

All Active 6 models come with ANSI Z87 .1+* safety rated, removable swivel side shields that easily snap into place along with permanent locking side shields .
