Metro Philadelphia Takes the Lead with Adults 21-54 New Scarborough Research Release proves Metro’s growth in Philadelphia PHILADELPHIA (May 2, 2013) – Metro is now the most read daily newspaper among adults 2154 in the Philadelphia DMA – beating the competition for the first time since its launch in 1999 according to the latest readership survey from Scarborough Research. The survey also reveals that Metro is the only growing daily newspaper in Philadelphia, with an annual increase of 4% compared to a 10% and 23% decline for the Daily News and the Inquirer, respectively. “In a fast changing media environment, Metro continues to gain momentum and is now the number 1 daily newspaper in Philadelphia with the key 21-54 demo” said Yggers Mortensen, Metro US Publisher and CEO. “I would like to thank our readers and advertising partners for continuing to support Metro Philadelphia’s success.” Earlier this year, Metro unveiled a refreshed print design along with a re-launched website, metro.us.
