Cut the yarn and pull the tail through the remaining sts and to the inside of the mitten. THUMB: The thumb is worked with MC. Carefully pick out the waste yarn and pick up 10 sts from the bottom and 10 sts from the top + 2 additional sts. Divide the sts onto 3 needles (7-7-8). Continue working in stockinette in the round until the thumb measures approx. 5.5 cm / 2.25”. Continue working in stockinette and at the same time start working decreases: k2tog at the beginning of each needle. Continue working the three decreases on every rnd until 4 sts remain. Cut the yarn and pull the tail through the remaining sts and to the inside of the mitten. Weave in the ends. RIGHT-HAND MITTEN: Work as for left-hand mitten, but notice the placement of the line indicating the thumb on Chart Rnd 16. If you'd like, you can swap the yarns of MC and CC for the other mitten.
