As you have surely noticed, La Cittadella’s logo is shown together with the one of 2ndDesign, and that is what’s new: 2ndDesign and La Cittadella decided to join their professional synergies together in order to offer you a more and more interesting magazine, with many surprises which you are going to discover in the next months . We would like to thank our readers for the love and affection that every month you show us, sharing in the success that the magazine has been so far. As usual we are going to try to offer you an useful and funny service, full of news and events, reportages and interviews, and at the same time, a useful place to live your Second Life stylishly. It is one of the most beautiful sites of the “mare nostrum” and it has been drawn right to the tiniest details, in the virtual world of Second Life: not only in order to give the chance to have a look at the beauties of nature but also to show how tourism and Second life can perfectly get married in an unique and innovative way, so as to offer tour operators and customers a new, cheap, and visually impacting means of communication and information. But that is not all. Starting with this issue, La Cittadella and 2ndDesign fulfil a project-idea that was born some time ago: they join their professional synergies together to give birth to a new and strong medium: “2ndDesign La Cittadella Magazine”, which is bound to become a remarkable reference point in spreading our ventures, services and in helping the search of in-world news, events and information.

We will give our virtual place at the disposal of every skilled and experienced musician, in order to act as a launching pad for new talents that deserves succeeding. La Cittadella, as well, is going to have the honour of live- broadcasting all the nights of the famous Arè Rock Festival (http://www.arerockfestival.it/) that is going to take place as every year in Barletta and that usually appeals to many music lovers. Anyway, that is only a little taste. In the La Cittadella’s future there will be many other surprises and attractions just like the ones that have made it the lading place of thousands of users: as a matter of facts we have hosted the first edition of the Italian “Celebrity Survivor!” with direct link to the evening programme, in cooperation with RAI and Magnolia S.p.a.; since the last season had a great success, we hope to live this experience again in the future. Furthermore La Cittadella performed a wonderful fun park with thousands of attractions that make the child that is in everyone of us live again, and also instituted a football team whose plays you can follow every week during the championship: they play in the land stadium and you will also have the opportunity to play and to wake up the champion that lives in you.

More and more often then, we are going to light up our stage footlights on the fashion shows that host beautiful and charming models: this year two shows of the glamorous beauty contest “Miss Italia SL” have taken place in La Cittadella, winning a great success. In the artistic field, too, we announce big news. La Cittadella actually has a new purpose: we are determined to become a new meeting point for artists from all over the world, giving cultural differences the opportunity to turn to a big patrimony at everybody’s disposal. The many art exhibitions of the past have often become a place where No Profit companies could enjoy a considerable financial help in a quite innovative way: for example they have raised some funds for the children of Nassiriya. PANTELLERIA PANTELLERIA Tourism of the new millenium Tourism marries Second Life and becomes a protagonist of the virtual reality by promoting a new way to travel safely and pleasantly. As a matter of facts, a few days ago a scandal hit the Lonely Planet, the famous publishing house that prints tour guides. One of its authors, Thomas Kohnstamm, did indeed admit that the guide for Columbia had been written without visiting Colombia at any time and he excused that because of the short economic resources that Lonely Planet itself placed at his disposal for the drawing up of it. Such news bore out the opinion of tour operators, already in search of a new way of dealing with their business, who decided to start using Second Life as a means of spreading tourism news and information. LSJ LONDON SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM The London School of Journalism has launched a college in Second Life to offer free lectures on journalism to the virtual world. From this weekend, the National Union of Journalists approved school will be opening its virtual doors for members of the Second Life community to attend lectures and Q&A sessions with journalism professionals. “We’ve already had an enormous response on Second Life, with between 500 and 1,000 people visiting our area each day,” LSJ director Michael Winckworth told Journalism.co.uk. “I know of no-one else on Second Life offering open lectures - perhaps we’ll find out why on Saturday.” In the real world the LSJ offers a mix of traditional test-based classroom and online study. Winckworth said the school was looking beyond theses simple tutoring methods to explore the possibilities Second Life could offer students. “What Second Life can add is that students can see each others’ avatar faces, and we can combine sound and text,” he added.
