Switch Plates – A New Place For Art In Your Home

What are switch plates? ďƒ˜

ďƒ˜

Switch Plates are the plates made which cover up the electric wires and box behind your electric light switches and outlets. Standard switch plates installed in most homes are cheap plastic, usually offwhite or tan. They may be the only item in your house that is exactly the same as every other home you visit.

Art switch plates are now available so your home can have its own switch plate designs. These artistic plates may be made of plastic, wood, metal or ceramics and they may have standard or unique colors and designs. Switch Plates are an easy way to give your home a new, distinctive flair.

Decorative Ceramic Switch Plates  Stowe

Craft Design offers a wide range of decorative ceramic switch plates. Each switch plate is a piece of original art done in clay and fired in a kiln by a family of artists.  The Switch Plates are made to fit standard North American switches and outlets.  Now you can select art to place on your wall behind as many of your light switches as you want.

T hings to Consider When Buying Switch Plates for Your Home Do you want to replace all your switch covers, a few or just one? Many people start with just one of two different designs so they can see how they look in different rooms.

 So

first see what type or configuration of switch plate cover you need.

 The

switch plates are available as single, double and triple switches.

 They

also come as a combo : 1 outlet and 1 switch combined on one cover. They also come as wide or décor switch covers.

 Then

select a style from the switch plate catalog on a site like stowecraft.com/ctgy/switchplatescovers.html

Tips To Install a Ceramic Electric Wall Plate

Every switch plate from Stowe Craft comes with special, extra long nylon screws.  Use always the provided screws to avoid scratching or cracking that could happen with metal screws.  The off-white nylon screws look better, too.  All you need is a small screwdriver. Remove the boring plastic plate and 2 screws. Then screw in your new plate using its special screws.  Don’t try to put two ceramic covers side by side. They are slightly wider than the plastic ones and may not fit. 
