"Lean Not Unto Thy Own Understanding"

"Lean Not Unto Thy Own Understanding" Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Today's discussion text provides sound advice and encourages all believers to always trust in the Lord, not with just head commitment, but with our total being while refraining from trusting our own understanding of things. This is because God's knowledge and ways far supersede those of man. Another point our scripture text makes is that trusting God totally believers is Christ-centered and God focused as opposed to being self-centered. Acknowledging God in all that we do is saying yes God is supreme and is perfect in all that He does. Also, allowing God to direct our paths will lead to believers achieving the goals God has for our lives, which cause believers to make right choices. This also prevents all humanistic thinking and philosophies that can only lead to self destruction. Since we have discussed the importance of totally trusting God and leaning not to our own understanding; let's look at the blessing of a long life and peace with God (v.3) as this manifests a right relationship with God. Another blessing for totally trusting God is that during believers most difficult times believers have the assurances of God presence, grace and help and as promised believers will never be forsaken nor lacking any good thing. Trust God and He will direct our paths. Comments are welcome Author's contact white3285@sbcglobal.net http://willie-writing.blogspot.com www.shepherdministries.info
