Ben Yeung & associates ltd, Hong Kong. I had handled multiple projects from large to small scale including Foodlane and market at TKO Gateway, shopping mall renovation at Nam Cheung, lift lobby renovation at CITIC tower, etc.

I was trusted to work with minimal supervision and have undertaken a wide variety of tasks during my job positions. And I have further developed my architectural knowledge and honed my coordination skills throughtout the profound work experiences.

efficient equipment to emerge. Next, to lays out possible answers to one of the big questions facing renewable energy: which areas should be dedicated to solar panels, and which areas should be protected for the sake of vegetation, outdoor recreation, open space?

Faced with increase in world energy usage, its consumption will grow by nearly 50% between 2018 and 2050. A power-plants are a unique architecture typology: they are industrial, massive and at times beautiful, usually it is a ‘engineered’ spaces that rarely incorporate public space.

That is beginning for us to change with by exploring the spatial, formal, and civic possibilities. So, it seems like a good idea to address urban planning from micro to macro, start transforming existing into power-generating highway all the way.

As technology has advanced, where previous equipment was large, bulky, or awkward in size, nowadays advances allow smaller, flexible and more

20

| 2018

Centre for nature’ is a prototype of a sustainable urban planning. Warringah freeway in North Sydney has been examining the role it can play in the city’s greater ecology. This proposal serves as a public and education space with a composite system.

Don’t wait! Let’s seed the idea of renewable energy!

et in the rich and complex district of Kreuzberg by the River Spree, and more broadly within perhaps the most politically, geographically, and intellectual contested urban environment of recent history, a city shape and torn apart by ideas, here the proposition that architecture might be more than a response to a predetermined set of conditions, more than a clever solution to a set of functional requirements is particularly apposite. together we will argue for the critical agency of architecture as an idea, idea as architecture. The proposed urban camping is driven by existential experience, embracing the various levels of adventure associated with the condition of camping, from travelers to young families and students. In its form and program, urban camping celebrates the city as the natural human habitat in recognition that people have become more and more indifferent to each other and the relationship between neighbors has become less intimate and is projected to be worth so, living in share.

VI. 'Rite of passage' in Albi cathedral

T

| 2020

his essay is an examination into the creation and perception of Albi cathedral through an understanding of 'rite of passage'. A 'rite of passage' is a ceremony that occurs when an individual leaves one group to enter another, which involves a significant social status change. It is a term innovated by Arnold (1909) defined as ceremonies that accompany any individual's life crises, and it is composed of three major phases including separation, transition and incorporation. The term is now fully adopted into the architectural language in this essay. This essay is a study of Albi cathedral was constructed between 1282 and 1480 in Albi, France has been intended to be part of the Albi planning, take traveller to a particular journey, and that journey itself is a part of the ritual, it was influenced by i) the Point of arrival; ii) the rite of entering; iii) and its place of stillness.

VII. Traversing Gameboard Blacktown

T

his paper was a narrative of Afghan Osman Mosque through the examination into the cultural and social compositions and character of Blacktown precinct. Afghan Osman mosque, located at 15 Fourth Avenue, Blacktown, as a place of worship is fundamental in the lives of observant Muslims. Afghan Community Support Association of NSW Australia (ACSA) has initiated a project that the original small prayer hall was turned into a major mosque undergoing a re-establishment advancement. Funding raised over three million came from the local Afghan community and interstate to complete the mosque in 2014.

Above: Reconstruction project started in 2012 after over 15 years fight. Middle: Opening ceremony in 2014 and the showcase of its open worship place layout. Bottom: Streetscape and visual analysis.

T

he main purpose of this narrative was to highlight the rebuilding and expanding nature of Afghan Osman mosques and how it reaches out a wider community. A number of interesting facts and pattern in Afghan Osman mosque has been discovered that it is not just places of worship but also a community centre serving a variety of needs in the Afghan community and in Blacktown. A more extensive section of the Muslim community, especially troubled youth, may go there praying and socialising with social events organised by

the mosque, which the previous are not suitable in scale for providing a wide range of services. Afghan Osman mosque is a dynamic place, and with more financial resources and support, it can keep evolving and being a productive member of society, not just serve themselves.

n 2050, the rising sea level will occupy the land and flood the city with 4-metre depth of water. In this circumstance, a normal market will be drowned. Pei Ho Street in Hong Kong is selected as our traditional market prototype where a retail street with hawker stalls sell bargain-priced apparel and a variety of groceries mainly exotic fruits and vegetables. The purpose of Amphibious Market is to explore the possibility of ordinary ground stalks into buoyant mobile water market. This water market is formed by interlocking the modulated wave resilient stalls which make the number of stalls flexible to add on. The linked chain can be simply relocated by the motor boat in between the narrow streets. Customers can visit the market via in store or drive through. This project require potential low technological solution yet can engage and enlighten our inner drowning precinct.

IX. Paper Street | 2021

Shortlisted in Origamitecture.

Competition organiser: UNI More information at: https://uni.xyz/projects/paper-street-desc-paper-street-is-recogn

Paper street’ is recognized to transform underutilized urban spaces into vibrantly activated, mixed social and artistic destinations. It is located at Goold Street in Central, Sydney - one of the 100 metres long low use lane way. This kind of underused space is common in Sydney. This project shows the new way to bring the underused part of the city back to life, not limited to Sydney but worldwide. Thanks to the expandability of origami, this device ranges in scale from a long or short; wide or narrow street, to intimate stalls, to land art installations in an arcade-like corridor. The origami concept is based on designing a lightweight, portable and foldable device utilizing as a shelter of flea market and exhibition space. The device transforms a set of foldable sheets into a shelter through folding techniques, minimises the storage

space, and is easily carried and folded by users. The use of waterproof and tear-proof paper provides the ideal medium for outdoor origami, and the semitransparent material property provides an enjoyable walking journey avoiding excessive sunlight. Not to mention this, origami benefited from saving cost. It is a better choice compared to a traditional booth setting in a short term format. It is cheaper and more flexible in size. A single origami pattern is 8m(W.) x 10m(L.), which can be continuously overlapped and repeated to fit the designated street’s length. The device is easy to maintain as each origami unit is replaceable if any part is damaged. Also, it can be reused and recycled after the temporary market and exhibition. This project aims to consistently create an extra layer of lifestyle and sense of place by origami.

G

ranny,

Well, It has been a while, two and a half years since I last talked to you. I’m doing well in life. I understand we all will lose someone we love at some point in our life, however the loss can often hit us anytime, anywhere and in harder than we expect— much to our chagrin. Guess what, shortage and long-distance of burial space are familiar problems for anyone who lives in a city, especially Hong Kong, actually no more large-scale cemetery built. But it’s fine, I dislike the crowded and very far cemetery anyway, I like being inside this mist to commemorate our memories permissively without timed-reminder. So I searched for closest stop, walked here and customized the ‘misting-space’ on screen— picked your favorite songs, skirt’s color, and cake flavour which you used to make for my birthday... I’m feeling you stay connected with me during this time. I may not have you here physically but I keep you in heart always… Ah! I forgot how long I stay here, but for now it's time to let life play out. This’s just a ritual. I’m getting out, but you know... I mist you——
