Restorative Practice in action

Our Y6 Restorative Practice Representatives have been very busy during lunch and break times by supporting others. They have worked incredibly hard in their training and are doing an amazing job so far in their roles RP Reps. Well done Y6!

Peer Critique

This week our Y3 children have been peer critiquing their diary entries. Some wrote as Jim Jarvis from our class text street child. Others wrote as the evil teacher Mr Barrack. We offered our friends some useful feedback for their writing. Well done everyone.

Clay work

Year 5 have been developing their skills working with clay. They used pull and pinch, snake, rolling and smoothing techniques to create their eye sculptures that look fantastic!

ROA Day

During our record of achievement day this week all children took time to think about their most proud moments and used their reflection skills to think about their achievements this term. These should have made their way home for them to share with you.

Face coverings

Face coverings must be worn on the school grounds please unless an exemption form/card has been seen by a member of staff.

Internet Safety

We continue to have reports of instances of inappropriate use on devices. Please monitor what your child is doing when they are on their phone, laptop, iPad etc. School cannot be responsible for dealing with issues that are happening at home. We are working hard to educate the children on safe internet use - this theme spans the breadth of our curriculum. If you would like advice or some resources to help you support your child to use technology appropriately and keep them safe this is a great website: https://www.net-aware.org.uk/. We have lots of resources also available on our school website.

Beat the Street

This week is the last week of Beat The Street! You’ve all done a great job so far collecting points from the beat boxes! This week is GO CELEBRATE week, which means DOUBLE POINTS on all beat boxes! What are you waiting for? Between Friday 30th April – Wednesday 26th May 2021 We are asking our Willow Tree families to add their spare change to a jar to raise funds for the LEAF Centre. We will send a reminder for you to bring your jars in on Wednesday.

Symptoms *High temperature *Persistent new cough *Loss of taste and/or smell If you or your child have any or all of these symptoms you must isolate and call 111 for advice as you may need a test. Call 119 for a test or order online. Inform school if your child is being tested.

Lateral Flow home testing kits are now available for families to test at home. These can be collected from Herringthorpe Stadium Testing Site between 1.30pm and 7pm each day. If you get a positive test from this you must then book a PCR test to confirm the result. Please inform school as you will need to isolate. We would encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to help protect our school community. All current measures in school will remain the same. You will be informed if changes are made. Please remember: * Face coverings * One parent drop off/pick up * Maintain social distancing You risk not being allowed on site if you choose not to follow these measures.
