Y3 Estimating
Children in year 3 have enjoyed combining their pe and mathematical skills during a recent lesson. They estimated how long each activity would take.
Tuesday 4th to 7th May Book Week
Observing textiles
Y5 used their observational skills to analyse examples of art and textiles. They then created their own example of a Tudor pattern, using their sketching pencil.
Strong Minds
The children have been taking part in lessons over the past two weeks looking at growth mindset. They explored how having a more open mind could allow them to achieve and experience new things and support their well being. This theme was then continued through a P4C session where the children engaged in a conversation and wondering around their chosen question linked to the text my strong mind.
Breaking News!
This week Year 6 have been building scripts to report on a close call involving a broken lighthouse and an oncoming ship. After writing the story last week, they decided to create breaking news and use the green screen to create a formal BBC news report.
Egg hunt challenge
The children have had a egg cellent time this week taking part in our Easter orienteering challenge which saw them having to solve some mathematical questions in order to retrieve the padlock code and get to the treasure inside!

Internet Safety
We continue to have reports of instances of inappropriate use on devices. Please monitor what your child is doing when they are on their phone, laptop, iPad etc. School cannot be responsible for dealing with issues that are happening at home. We are working hard to educate the children on safe internet use - this theme spans the breadth of our curriculum. If you would like advice or some resources to help you support your child to use technology appropriately and keep them safe this is a great website: https://www.net-aware.org.uk/. We have lots of resources also available on our school website.

If you get a positive test from this you must then book a PCR test to confirm the result. Please inform school as you will need to isolate. We would encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to help protect our school community. All current measures in school will remain the same. You will be informed if changes are made.
