Dear Parent/Carer School Dinners Dinner debts continue to rise despite our continued reminders for payments. Our school does not provide school dinners, it is an external company and as a result of this cumulative debt funds are being taken from an already stretched budget to cover this, meaning that all children in our school are affected. If contact with parents is not successful, this via a daily text message, phone call and/or letter then we will request you either provide your child with a packed lunch or collect them at lunch time. Payments for all school meals must be made at the start of a week via our online system. If you currently have outstanding payments please make sure that these are cleared. If you have concerns

or are having difficulties with paying please contact reception or the school office and we will do our best to help and support you.

Year 3 – Magna Over a couple of days last week all the year 3 children were taken on an educational visit to Magna. This links to the children’s work in the classroom ‘Meet me by the Steelmen’.

Student Council – Keeping us Safe The Student Council successfully made a bid for some parking buddies to help keep our children safe. They recently arrive and have taken pride of place along our school drive. Usually this section of road is covered in cars making it a hazard for other road users and pedestrians. Well done Student Council!

Family Learning Year three have continued to work on their family Learning tasks with Ms. Higgins. Parents worked alongside their children focusing on the book The Snail and the Whale. Thank you to all our parent/carers for being involved.

Things from Home Children are coming into school with magnetic balls which are a current trend. These are potentially dangerous in a school as children may pick them up put them in their mouths. As well as the risk of choking there are significant risks of damage to the bowel as detailed in the news item below. https://www.worksopguardian.co.uk/news/read-this/playground-magnetic-ball-trend-leaving-kids-needemergency-surgery-1376541 Please discourage your child from bringing personal items into school as we cannot guarantee that they will not be damaged/lost. School provides everything that your child will need during the day.

LEAF Centre Currently we are working hard on developing our LEAF Centre (Leading Endeavour for Aspirational Futures), which is going to be a special designed and built building based at one of our other schools, Rockingham Junior and Infant School. It is a centre that will be used to support pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs that are struggling to access their learning in a mainstream classroom. It will support pupils from across our academy schools and hopefully across Rotherham too. We have secured some funding for the project however this does not cover all costs. Over the next few years we will be working hard to fundraise to enable to project to be a success and we hope that you will support us in endeavour as it will benefit all children.

*If you know of anyone or any companies that would be willing to offer a donation to support this project please ask them to contact school for further information.
