Pen and ink
Year 6 have been reminiscing about their visit to Bambrough castle a few weeks ago during their art lesson today. The children have been looking at tone and texture using pen and ink. There are some amazing outcomes – well done year 6!
Investigating Shadows
In preparation for their learning on day and night, Year 5 have been busy this morning investigating shadows. They looked carefully at the similarities between each of the shadow and were set a challenge by Mrs Evans to make exactly the same shadow 4 hours later. Do you think they could do it?

Roman Numerals
Holiday dates
Y4 have been using their resilience skills outside when learning about Roman numerals. Some of the children also participated in a Roman numeral race and others were challenged to create Roman numerals out of lollipop sticks.
Y6 meet the artist!
What a wonderful introduction to Ilona Drew. The children asked fantastic questions that allowed them to understand her as an artist as well as more about her artwork. We can’t wait to start our project together! SUMDOG challenge This week Y5 have taken part in their own SUMDOG challenge. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed competing against one another and have loved earning our well deserved coins!

P4C
All children have been involved in some excellent conversations during this week’s P4C sessions around new beginnings. Each class came up with a question they would like to discuss and spent time sharing and listening to each others views and opinions during a discussion. Notices:
Parking We have had a number of complaints about inconsiderate parking. Please think about our neighbours when dropping off and picking up - DO NOT park across driveways or block pavements. I have also had concerning complaints around abusive parents when they have been asked to move their cars. We will be talking to the police and requesting additional patrols to help monitor the situation. Respect for all A reminder please to extend the same level of respect that you would expect yourself towards members of staff at school, whether this be verbal or written. We will not tolerate staff being communicated with in a rude or abusive manner. If this does happen you may be asked to leave the school site and not be allowed to return. Lates We have increasing numbers of children arriving late each morning. Children must be IN class by 8:50am as this is when the school day starts. They can arrive any time from 8:40am. Smoothies We will be selling Happy Monkey smoothies every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from next week. Smoothies cost 50p. Children to hand money to their class teacher and then collect smoothie on their way out to breaktime.
