Personal, Social and Health Education (PSCHE) - Healthy Living- Making a recipe healthier- baking. -Being a responsible citizen- Link to Lego characters- courtroom drama linked to Oracy. -E-Safety- 5/2/19- internet safety day.

The Spring term is important as teachers and children continue to learn together to attain high expectations. In order to progress well the children will need your continued support at home, listening to them read and ensuring that any homework tasks are completed. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) English (Literacy) In the Literacy hour, the children will be using a range of fiction and non-fiction material. Our Literacy learning will be linked to our class book Matilda and Lego-Everything is Awesome video. We will use our literacy skills to script, score and then film our own scene to the Lego film.

Heroes vs Villains - What does it mean to be special? Is everyone special? -‘Only the best is good enough’ What does this mean? (History of Lego video) -We’re all wonders- All about being different. -Gifted and talented (Matilda)

Mathematics In maths the children will be consolidating their previous knowledge and studying a range of mathematical concepts including: activities linked to our Real Project. - MONEY – costings to arrange film event & refreshments - DATA HANDLING – Favourite heroes/villains - AREA & PERIMETER – Different size/shape Lego bricks/compound shapes - CO-ORDINATES – Place bricks on co-ordinate grid & play battleships/ map of new Lego village on a grid. - FRACTIONS – Lego bricks to represent - RATIO & PROPORTION – Pile of coloured bricks – Ratio of red bricks to blue bricks - TIME – History of Lego video – Billund airport website – timetable – flight times, duration, cinema times etc The main focus will be – coordinates, locations, grid references, fractions and the four operations.

Science The children will be following the topics of Living things and their habitat, animals including Humans. We will study the life cycles of living things including humans. We will also be studying plant reproduction.

Music The children will have the opportunity to learn and perform using the Charanga Programme

- Make you feel my love - Fresh Prince of Bel Air - Lego song in French Religious Education This term the children will study Islam Considering the question: What difference do the 5 Pillars of Islam make to Muslim Children’s lives? Learning about Muhammed’s early life.
