BOOST YOUR BRAND WITH COFFEE GROUNDS In the Netherlands alone, more than 250 million kilograms of coffee grounds are left over after making coffee. Historically, most of this waste ended up in an incinerator. Now, these coffee grounds are being used as the perfect raw material for making a sustainable alternative to plastic. Coffee grounds are now collected from cafes and restaurants and dried at special locations ready to be used again. Once processed, the coffee grounds form the basis for the production of useful products such as pens, flower pots and sunglasses.

A SECOND LIFE FOR USED PRODUCTS Many of you will be familiar with PET bottles and know that these bottles pollute the oceans and landfill sites. That is why these bottles are collected and recycled (RPET) to serve as raw materials for a huge number of products. It is a great alternative to using virgin plastic. There are many materials that are recycled and given a second life. For example, old clothing and textiles in combination with RPET become the basis of RPET felt. You will find bags made of this material in our collection. Even parts of old white goods are reused to make card holders and the most beautiful hammam towels are woven from recycled cotton. This process often combines different raw materials to create something new. Worn textiles are sorted and stripped of buttons, zips and labels. It is then machine processed until only fibres remain. This is mixed with a small percentage of virgin organic cotton or polyester. After processing, strong yarns are spun from these fibres. The production process is much more environmentally friendly than that of traditional cotton: no agricultural land, no insecticides, less use of water and energy. Cellulose is the most abundant organic polymer on Earth and is an integral part of the cell walls of plants and many algae species. Cellulose is mainly used for paper production. This is an ideal and durable replacement for the everyday dishcloth, which will often use plastic in its production. Vodde makes its yarn from cotton collected by local ‘rag farmers’ and from cutting waste from textile production in European countries where Vodde makes its own products. In addition, polyesters derived from PET bottles, nylon, fishing nets and other collected waste are also used. These socks use a 100% circular economy manufacturing process. By wearing these socks you are contributing to a sustainable world with less pollution. These socks are available made-to-measure and also with a customised design. Choose from nine standard yarn colours. CUSTOM BIO DISHCLOTH. This organic dishcloth is made from 70% cellulose and 30% cotton waste. Cellulose is the most abundant organic polymer on Earth and is an integral part of the cell walls of plants and many algae species. Cellulose is mainly used for paper production. The cotton waste consists of cotton fibres that are too short to be used in the textile industry. This is an ideal and durable replacement for the everyday dishcloth, which will often use plastic in its production. The Bio Dishcloth can be washed using a temperature of up to 90 degrees and can be reused hundreds of times. When the dishcloth needs to be replaced, it can be thrown in to your organic waste bin.
