Port Ellen 27yo Cask # 2347 An intense and austere Port Ellen. Its natural, clean, crisp and very dry profile is typical of this legendary lost distillery. Very maritime, with salty and sour notes (lemons, sea spray) and just the right amount of smokiness. Its palate is very mineral and dominated by lemons, dry white wine, and a touch of wax. Extremely appetizing, it's a malt which needs some water to fully release its flavours and which is particularly suited for pairing with oysters and seafood. A powerful and elegant old whisky, a triumph on the palate but also a bottling that no collector will want to miss.
