The Role that WAP might play from Wiltshire Council and Arts Council Perspectives. Wiltshire Council 1. WAP are a channel through which quick and informed responses can be sought as to current opportunities. 2. To support the long and short term strategies of other organisations eg; ‘The Art In The Landscape’ work of Visit Wiltshire 3. Play a part in a Creative Industries Forum as discussed by in Local Enterprise Partnerships 4. To broker a way into commissioning work for individual artists, organisations and consortiums. 5. Be a voice of influence in the writing of Arts Service strategies 6. A forum for Wiltshire-wide arts promotion and knowledge transfer, working closely in partnership with Wiltshire Council. 7. WAP canvassing its membership for collective responses to best approach to developing and capitalising on Wiltshire Council’s key priorities: a. Providing Superfast broadband throughout Wiltshire b. Children’s attainment c. Vulnerable adults and social care 8. Provide an arts voice within Local Area Boards and Partnerships Arts Council South West

WAP are well placed to influence a tool though which visitors and residents within Wiltshire can design their own bespoke Cultural packages eg A Wiltshire wide what’s on and booking system (It was recommended that such work be undertaken in partnership with Visit Wiltshire), (Also a Wiltshire Council priority) 2. ACE identify WAP as having two distinctive areas of work a. Strategic Planning b. Programme Of Performance 3. WAP should explore options within the digital media field
