Want to be part of Wiltshire’s Professional Arts Network?

Do you work professionally within the arts? Do you want to network with large and small professional arts organisations, individual artists and arts administrators? Do you want to help ensure that the arts continue to thrive in Wiltshire? Do you want to be kept up to date on local and national arts news, funding and training opportunities?

If you are working professionally within the arts and the answer to any of these questions is ‘Yes’ then please do come along to an open Wiltshire Arts Promoters (WAP) meeting on Thursday March 3 from 11am until 3pm, lunch included, at Salisbury Playhouse. The day will be being facilitated by professional facilitators from Magic Parsnips to ensure that the very most is gained from the day.

WAP is a network of 18 members currently including Salisbury Playhouse, The Pound Arts Centre, Salisbury Arts Centre, Salisbury International Arts Festival, Devizes Carnival, BA14 culture group, Marlborough Jazz Festival, Bigstate and Hoodwink theatre companies as well as individual visual artists and arts administrators!

WAP’s aims are to: • Offer real partnership and support to strategic arts development in Wiltshire • Deliver a co-ordinated, collective and coherent voice for the arts in Wiltshire • Provide an action led forum leading to positive outcomes for shared objectives

Membership is open to organisations and individuals who are involved in producing and promoting the arts in Wiltshire. It offers a unique networking opportunity to provide mutual support and to raise the profile of the arts in Wiltshire.

We are aware that the arts sector, like many others is going through significant change so we feel that this is a useful time to look again at what WAP’s objectives are and what those working within the arts see the needs as being. “We are really keen to have as many people working within the professional arts sector to join us on the 3rd of March as possible. We believe that if we work together we can ensure that the arts in Wiltshire go from strength to strength and that key decision makers will understand the value that the arts have for our communities and economy” explains Tracy Sullivan WAP’s Development Manager.

Anyone interested in supporting WAP’s work either on March 3 or as a WAP member beyond that date please contact Tracy Sullivan by email wiltshireartspromoters@gmail.com or by telephone: 07540 938936.
