Overview

Inspire Branded

The Great Wiltshire Tour is an audacious, multi-layered, South West based project involving a series of outdoor ‘magical happenings’ which will coincide with the opening of the Olympic Games in July 2012. The project will also incorporate community activity across Wiltshire. The project aspires to be a large scale project with a Wiltshire focus but national reach, using Wiltshire’s best known heritage sight to inspire regional and national interest, and be the focus for other smaller activities to happen around it.

“Not the Finishing Line” – The best of Arts Possibly in Health will be a festival of creative activities and events at Salisbury District Hospital. The theme/title summarises a key message of arts in health activity: when people fall ill, whether this is less or more serious, it turns their life upside down, temporarily or permanently as in the case of spinal patients. At that turning point creative and artistic support is of enormous value, as it can provide an opening to discovering new quality and meaning of life at a time when people most need to be reinspired.During the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 ArtCare will coordinate a programme of performances, exhibitions and workshops throughout the hospital, including visual art, dance, music and poetry, for the benefit of patients and visitors in the hospital. We are looking to reinstall a medal-award for the arts (decided by public vote), as was last done in 1948. Alongside we will develop a website and communications strategy to celebrate the best of arts in health past, present and future for the benefit of a wider Wiltshire

White Horses

SIAF

Maria Bota

Maria@salisbu ÂŁ30 - 130K enough ryfestival.co.u has been secured k for the project to go ahead on a small scale but more needed to achieve the further reaching, larger scale

The idea is to expand on and return to the focus of this year's Festival, the Wiltshire White horses, ideally by working across all 13 of them in the landscape, lighting them up at night (with military and local communities) and involving local communities in creating work in relation to their particular white horse. We are also exploring the idea of creating some temporary white horses in the landscape, which could be in parts of the county where there are currently none - this could be through a series of 'flash dance' moments. We are working with Natural England already in 2010 around the Pewsey White Horse, with local school children making models of white horses which will feature at the Festival, as well as being taken up onto the chalk down to see their local white horse and a link up with the QinetiQ apprentices, who are making a white horse sculpture for us this year. This could be seen as a pilot for 2012, and we do plan to work with Natural England again in 2012, again around the Pewsey Horse. The beauty of this idea is that it is totally scaleable, depending on the funds we can find. It could be that we focus on 3 sites, getting something away for ÂŁ30k, or stretch to more. We would re-reveal the 90-mile walk which takes in the Wiltshire
