The college holds several funds which cater for different groups of students. Use the tables on these pages to find out if you are eligible. These tables are only a guide and awards are NOT guaranteed. Once we have assessed your application we will write to confirm your award.

16-18 Bursary Fund The following students can access this fund if they meet the eligibility criteria in the table below:  Students aged 16-18 in full time further education  Students aged 19 on 31st August 2017 AND who are on the 2nd year of their Level 3 course  Students aged 19-24 who have an EHCP or LDA

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Students in one of the following categories: in care, a care-leaver, claiming ESA and DLA/PIP in own name (or Universal Credit if it replaces these benefits), claiming income support in own name (or Universal Credit if it replaces it).

Travel (help is dependent on where you live)

Living with parent/guardians neither of whom are working and who are in receipt of any of the following benefits: Income Support, ESA, JSA, Pension Credits. OR Household income less than £21,000* and living independently but not claiming benefits

Group C

Living with parent/guardians, with at least one of them working and with a household income of less than £21,000*

Group D

Living with parent/guardians who are not in receipt of any benefits and whose household income is between £21,000 and £25,000*

* We will deduct £1,000 from annual household income for each child in education in the household excluding the student.

19+ Learner Support Fund / Loans Bursary The following students can access this fund if they meet the eligibility criteria in the table below:  Students aged 19+ in further education but NOT students aged 19 on 31st August 2017 and on the 2nd year of their Level 3 course, these students should apply to the 16-18 bursary fund (see overleaf)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

19+ Discretionary Learner Support Fund

Full or part time student on an eligible** course with an income as follows : £25,000 or under for applicants living with a partner and/or children. We will deduct £1,000 from annual household income for each child in education in the household excluding the student. OR Single applicant, living with parents and working part time, with a student income of under £10,000 OR Single applicant living independently and working, with a student income of less than £15,000. OR Under 25 with no income of their own and living with parent/guardians whose income is less than £25,000

*We will only pay for childcare to cover student’s timetabled hours during college term-time (up to a maximum of £160 per week per child). Please be advised that college term-time may differ from school term-times and you will be liable for any childcare booked during college holidays. **Not all courses are eligible for funding, Student Services can advise if you are unsure whether or not your course is eligible.
