As we begin to break from the rain, I wanted to provide an update on the golf course and what to expect. Since December 1st, we have received 31 inches of rain, 23 of which have come since Christmas.Although we have also received strong winds, we have been lucky only to have lost 3 trees during the storms. The most extensive cleanup will be the bunkers, and we will begin removing the water and mud from the bunkers this week.
With the plan for all of the bunkers to be playable towards the end of next week.
Due to the constant rainfall, it has been weeks since we mowed turf besides greens. We are predicting that the fairways will be able to be mowed by Tuesday afternoon. We anticipate the first couple of mowings to produce a lot of clippings and could become messy. We will try to mitigate this by doing this work in the late mornings/afternoons when the grass is dry, and the clippings won’t clump up.
We are excited about the drier weather in the forecast and appreciate your patience during this process.Although we had a very wet December, we have leveled the sprinklers around the greens on half the course, which puts us ahead of schedule to have this completed before Spring. This will help the greens receive irrigation more uniformly and help the turf in green surrounds become more consistent.
Thank you, Jason Conrad
