Victim Assistance – Team Leader

Windermere Child and Family Services is the largest and fastest growing independent welfare agency in Melbourne’s South-East region. We have been assisting the most vulnerable in the community since 1851. This position is based at Narre Warren with travel throughout the Southern Metropolitan Region. Windermere is seeking a tertiary qualified person to join the leadership team within the Victim Assistance and Counselling Program. This program provides case management services tailored to the individual needs of victims of violent crime to assist in the management of the impact of the crime; to promote their recovery and to minimize secondary victimization sometimes associated through involvement in the criminal justice systems. The program is client focused, working from a strengths based perspective, acknowledging the capabilities of victims to recover with assistance from the effects of the incident. This is a challenging and fulfilling position for an applicant with appropriate Tertiary qualifications who has a minimum of five years case work experience in a trauma related program and a minimum of three years experience in a leadership role providing supervision to direct service staff. Team Leaders are expected to carry a case load. The applicants will have tertiary qualifications in social work, social welfare or similar field.
