“Home sales will continue to improve as we move through the rest of the year and into 2021 with the only real limitation being the availability of homes for sale. However, if we do start to see a significant migration away from our major job centers – due to a growing portion of the workforce working from home – then there may well be more sales than I am currently forecasting.”

“Mortgage rates hit historic lows this year and, although I think that they can drop a little lower, we are close to the bottom. That said, even as rates start to rise, they will still stay remarkably low from a historic perspective. Jumbo mortgage rates – which jumped as the pandemic hit – have already started to drop, and I expect that they will continue to become more competitive. That said, there are fewer companies offering these kinds of loans which means there will be an expectation for larger down payments, greater equity participation, and higher credit standards. ”
