Fix: Modern Setup Host Has Stopped Working – Windows 10 Failure

METHOD 1: CLEAR THE SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD FOLDER CONTENTS



Step 1. Open the File Explorer, and navigate to:



Step 2. Then you delete everything in this folder Download.



Step 3. Next, you open administrative Command Prompt. To do that, rightclick Start Button, select Command Prompt (Admin).



Step 4. In the Command Prompt window, type following command and tap Enter

wuauclt.exe /updatenow 

Step 5. Lastly, restart your system and check if the issue has resolved.

METHOD 2: USE WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE ASSISTANT



Step 1. First of all, you need to download the Media Creation Tool Windows 10 for the same edition and architecture you’ve currently installed.



Step 2. Then launch the tool and choose to Upgrade This PC Now. You’ll see that it will stuck when creating installation media, so close the tool.



Step 3. Press Windows Key + R then paste this path into Run dialog box and tap Enter

C:\$Windows.~WS\Sources\Windows\sources\setupprep.exe 

Step 4. Your installation should begin and the upgrade should be able to finish.
