‘Bed and Breakfast’ Fundraising Campaign

Ensuring Every Child has a Bed to Sleep in and Breakfast Each Morning

Supporting our ‘Bed and Breakfast’ campaign will help the most disadvantaged young people in our school communities across the West Midlands to thrive both academically and personally. Join us in shaping a brighter future for children.

Welcome to the Windsor Academy Trust family of schools.

Thank you for taking the time to read this brochure and for considering our request for corporate support.

Established in 2011, with Windsor High School and Sixth Form in Halesowen, the Windsor Academy Trust (WAT) family has grown to 15 successful schools across the West Midlands, collectively serving 10,000 students aged 2 to 18, driven by 1,300 committed, inspiring and talented staff.

Children are – and always have been – at the centre of everything we do. Our moral purpose is to unlock the academic and personal potential of young people - and it matters deeply to us that all children thrive, not just those in our schools.

We are committed to fostering strong partnerships within the community, ensuring that every child receives the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

About the Windsor Academy Trust Community Foundation

Big Move 3 of our strategy - Civic Leadership - recognises that schools and students thrive best when communities do. Part of our role as a family of schools is to deliver civic impact. That is why last year we established a charitable fund; the Windsor Academy Trust Community Foundation.

Managed in partnership with the Heart of England Community Foundation, the WAT Community Foundation aims to support those in our communities who need it most through trust-wide fundraising efforts. By prioritising innovative projects that create lasting change for young people and their families, the Foundation seeks to maximise our collective impact.

To continue to fund our community projects, we require diverse income streams and as a member of the local community, your support is valued and appreciated.

The Bed and Breakfast Campaign

Children learn more effectively when they have a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast in the morning. A bed and breakfast also supports school attendance, which positively impacts academic outcomes and life chances.

The reality of bed poverty – children and families without access to adequate and safe sleeping arrangements – is a critical issue that often goes unnoticed. Yet, its impact on the health, education and overall wellbeing of young people is profound. By focusing our efforts on this cause, we aim to bring about a positive change in the lives of those affected.

Join us in making a tangible difference in our pupils’ lives.

The Windsor Academy Trust Community Foundation has launched the Bed and Breakfast Campaign, an initiative aimed at tackling bed poverty and ensuring every child across our school community has their own bed to sleep in and a nutritious breakfast each morning.

Partnering with reputable bed providers, including Zarach and Emmaus UK, our aim is to guarantee that every child who does not have their own bed in one of our 15 schools receives one through the Foundation. Additionally, we are striving to ensure breakfast can be provided free of charge to all children in our schools.
