Bringing Back the Good Times!
Polish your cars, shine your shoes and get out your best dress as the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival rock and rolls back into town from Friday, 24 March, until Sunday, 26 March, bringing the 1950s to life in the streets of Kurri Kurri.
Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival, brought to you by Creightons Funeral Service, is now in its second decade and has established itself as one of the Hunter’s premier festivals, featuring all things rock ‘n’ roll, cars, music, fashion and dancing. It’s one of the largest festivals of its kind in Australia and a feature tourism event for the area.
There is something for everyone at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival - with free entertainment over the weekend, including live rock n roll bands and 50s music, classic car displays, retro market stalls, dancing and retro fashion parades.
Visitors can participate in dancing workshops and win prizes for the best dressed. There are also a variety of night-time dance and music events at local venues, as well as a 50s fashion parade and high tea.
SHANNON'S SHOW & SHINE
If you love classic cars and hot rods, Shannon’s Show and Shine is a real highlight of the festival, with two days of classic cars, hot rods and vintage vehicles lining the streets in the town centre. Enjoy the display of immaculately maintained and presented vehicles from pre-1978.
HOT ROD WALT
A hot new international act straight from Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Hot Rod Walt will be performing on the Main Stage at Col Brown Rotary Park on Sunday and at Weston Workers Club on Saturday night, where you can rock out to Hot Rod Walt, Whistle Dixie and DJ Gav. Tickets for Saturday night are available at www.kurrikurrinostalgiafestival. com.au
