Altano Douro White, Douro 2021 (£12.49, Fells): Floral and tropical fruits mix – feels very fresh and full of personality.
Quinta dos Carvalhais Dão Colheita Branco, Dão 2022 (£16.99, Liberty Wines): Lots of citrus and stone fruit mingling; very well integrated oak.
Vila Nova Alvarinho, Vinho Verde 2022 (£11.99, Boutinot): Pear drops, apple and a touch of lemon flesh. Simple, but attractive and very good value.
Real Companhia Velha Cidro Alvarinho, Cima Corgo, Douro 2021 (£17.39, Marta Vine): Serious, expressive, subtly leesy Alvarinho. Very long, very dry, but lovable.
Quintas do Homem Vale do Homem Alvarinho, Vinho Verde 2022 (£14.99, Alliance Wine): Crescendo of flavours on a crisp, lively finish. Very good.
Romania white wines
Budureasca Premium Fumé, Muntenia 2021 (£14.99, Transylvania Wines): Enjoyable. Good flavour complexity. Buttery, smoky, spicy. Tropical fruit.
Budureasca Sauvignon & Sauvignon, Muntenia, Dealu Mare 2021 (£14.99, Transylvania Wines): Full mouthfeel and good acidity. Very enjoyable.
South Africa white wines
Wildeberg Terroirs Chenin Blanc, Paarl 2021 (£17.99, Boutinot): Good balance of creaminess and acidity. Stone fruit, citrus, spice. Long honeyed finish.

Daschbosch Skin Contact, Breedekloof 2022 (£18.49, Boutinot): Fresh tropical, floral, aromatic nose. Pronounced aromas. Honeydew melon.
Zevenwacht Chenin Blanc, Stellenbosch 2022 (£14, Awin Barratt Siegel Wine Agencies): Well balanced; good length. A nice summer wine and good value.
Waterkloof Circumstance Sauvignon Blanc, Stellenbosch 2022 (£14.99, Boutinot): A bit different: creamy texture. So balanced and very moreish.
Wildeberg Wild House Sauvignon Blanc, Western Cape 2022 (£8.99, Boutinot): Great example of its type for the price. Kiwi, gooseberry; grassy notes.
Spice Route Swartland Chenin Blanc, Swartland 2022 (£16.99, Liberty Wines): Juicy, peach, honey, flint, smoke, vanilla. Apricot and hints of dried fruit.
Lismore Estate Chenin Blanc, Cape South Coast 2021 (£31, Hallgarten & Novum Wines): Lovely aromas. A beautiful Chenin: oaky, toasty, creamy, smoky.
Bergsig Estate Don’t Tell the Kiwis Sauvignon Blanc, Breede Valley 2021 (£9.99, Vinfinity): Green apple, sweet lime; light, easy-drinking, great value.

Felix Callejo El Lebrero, Ribera del Duero 2020 (£31, Moreno Wines): Subtle oak and nice citrus freshness. Honey, toast, warmth, good finish. Intriguing.

Borsao Selección Blanco, Campo de Borja 2021 (£9.49, Boutinot): Brilliant tropical fruit and gentle creamy oak. Amazing value for a gastronomic white.
