In 2010 the WSRRA Foundation was started as a way to give back to WSRRA members and their families. This year the WSRRA Foundation will hold a live auction to benefit Will Delong and his family. Will DeLong was born and raised in Humboldt County, Nevada.

Proud to be a fifth generation Nevada cattle rancher, Will and his wife Katie have worked hard to produce high genetic quality Red Angus cattle and good horses. Will started ranch rodeoing before he, himself, was out of high school, participating in the Winnemucca Ranch Rodeos from the very first. Being the handy guy he is, he was able to ride the ranch bronc or show the ranch horse, rope both ends of the steer or be the notorious heavy in the mugging.

It also happens that Will and his DeLong Ranches Team won the first WSRRA sanctioned Winnemucca Ranch Hand Rodeo in 2010. It’s been a few years since he has been in the ranch rodeo arena as he and Katie have

switched to the Junior and High School Rodeo arena to support their three rodeo-tough children. A live auction will be held on Friday, November 1st, during the 6:00 pm performance to benefit Will. Auction items include Romal Reins made by John Peters, Henry .22 Rifle, Bedroll Package, and Ricky Bobby Ropes. Donations can also be made onsite or by visiting wsrra.org

WSRRA Foundation also organizes a scholarship award. This year a custom bridle set will be raffled to support the scholarship fund. John and Kristen Mincer donated the bit, rein chains, reins and hardware for the headstall and Ricardo’s Saddlery donated the headstall. Reins made and donated by John Glascok. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Mincer Silversmithing booth in the Event Center on the East Mezzanine.
