WHAT THE STEWARDS SAW RACE 1 BOOMSTER Raced three wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. RACE 2 SPENDING MY TIME Raced three-wide with cover for the majority and approaching the 600m when racing ungenerously, was checked from heels. Near the 200m was tightened for room and checked when racing between FIFTEEN ROUNDS which shifted out after being taken out marginally by PRAIRIE FIRE and SAVVY LAD which shifted in. As stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the incident could be attributed to any one rider, stewards ruled the matter to be a racing incident. SHADOW OF TIME Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. VAST KAMA Carried wider on the track passing the 500m. HATCHET Near the 500m steadied to avoid the heels of BATTLETON which shifted in. ENABLER Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Passing the 1000m had to be steadied after shifting out onto heels. RACE 3 COSSIE Raced three wide throughout. Near the 600m was forced wider by another runner. GINGER ROCK Slow into stride. On returning to scale, Jockey M Hellyer reported that the mare felt short in its action during the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SHANJOMI When quest rdr stated mount began well & when Wuddacuddashudda showed an intent to lead he was happy to settle outside it. Rdr stated mount travelled comfortably in e&m stages however when Wuddacuddashudda commenced to improve approaching 400m his mount was under pressure to improve with it. Rdr stated he allowed his mount to shift wider on the track rounding h/turn & at entrance to straight as this ground is typically superior on rain affected going & quinella of 1st event had utilised

RACE 4 GURU CLASS Trainer J Bruce advised that it was the intention for the filly to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. SAILOR'S SECRET Bumped at the start. VEANDECHANCE Rdr reported that it was not his intention to settle as far forward as he did, however after beginning well, and with the likely leader being a late scratching behind the barriers, he decided to take advantage of the good start and settled in a more position. CLAIRVUE MOLLY Held up on the home turn and early in the straight before improving into a narrow run between DIAMOND CITY and EVEN NOW. LARRIKIN ROGUE Began awkwardly losing ground. Made contact with SPICY SONIC when attempting a narrow run to the inside of that runner near the 200m. RACE 5 SAVVY OAK (NZ) Held up for clear running on the home turn. LUVYOUANYTIME Forced wider at the 2000m and raced wide until approaching the 1600m. Bumped rounding the home turn. Bumped and taken inwards by SERGEANT SILVA approaching the 300m. FLENSBURG Raced three wide throughout. RACE 6 EDIFICATION Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure passing the 100m. WHODAT From the outside barrier was shifted behind rnrs in the early stages. Jockey J Taylor reported that it was his intention to settle closer, but after beginning poorly he settled at the rear of the field. BYRON EYES Steadied after improving onto heels near the 800m. MOKTAFFY (IRE) Jockey J. Orman when asked to comment on
the geldings’ performance, Mr Orman stated that he travelled well and bumped with GO DARCY when trying to obtain clear running in the straight and didn’t run on as expected. He also stated that the gelding laid in under pressure in the straight. RACE 7 KINLOCH Rdr permitted to ride 0.5kg over the allotted weight. In the early stages raced keenly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. LASTING KISS When questioned in relation to the mareâ’s performance rider explained that in his opinion Lasting Kiss did not handle the track conditions in todayâ’s event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. TURN ON THE CHARM (FR) Slow to begin. Held up for clear running in the home straight until the 200m. RACE 8 LIZA WITH A ZEE Shifted in near the 1000m and brushed with another runner. DR WHY NOT Began awkwardly. Over raced in the middle stages. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight. BE WATER MY FRIEND Crowded shortly after the start and lost ground. FLEET DOVE Raced three wide. LA AMIGO Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. When over racing badly shifted out near the 600m resulting in STRATEGIC POSITION being forced wider and having to be steadied from heels.
