D SERIES MOTOR GRADERS

836D/836D AWD/856D/856D AWD

CASE DESIGN ADVANTAGES

VISIBILITY – ENHANCED OPERATION & POSITIONING

• Sloping rear hood for enhanced operator visibility

• Breakaway heavy-duty side mirrors to prevent permanent impact damage

• Floor to ceiling glass w/ defrost rear window provides increased operator sight lines down to the blade

• Opening lower window increases ventilation and improves visibility to the work zone

• The standard seat is air ride with both adjustable position and arm rests

• Optional heated seat

CAB – MOUNTED TO REAR CHASSIS

• Provides clear sight to the moldboard for precision grading in tight, confined spaces

• Operator maintains forward perspective during articulation

• The moldboard design rolls/mixes material more efficiently requiring less power

• 836D-836D/AWD 11’ x 20.7” (3355 x 526mm), single radius curve

• 856D-856D/AWD 12’ x 23.7” (3660 x 603mm), single radius curve

• Contributes to additional stability and traction when compared to front chassis mounted cabs which maintains the 30/70 weight ratio split

CLASS EXCLUSIVE FRONT ARTICULATION

• Articulation provides tight turning radius, that provides CASE an advantage over the competition with increased maneuverability, and automotive style controls for reduced operator training/increased confidence

• Phenomenal turning ability benefits that niche market customer which is accredited to the CASE exclusive front articulation. Whereas the engine compartment and cab on the competition with rear articulation, will hit sooner so they must limit amount of frame articulation

• Excellent visibility to the blade, circle and saddle

• Easy alignment with improved operator orientation compared to rear mounted articulation

• Tight 22’ 4” turning radius on the 836D-AWD for quick & accurate machine positioning

FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS OF AWD

• AWD improves tractive performance in poor under-foot conditions such as snow, mud and sand

• The feature also provides excellent steering and side draft control

• For many municipalities, the Motor Grader is a primary piece of equipment for snow removal, so AWD is a critical feature for these customers

• Motor Graders with the AWD option can increase the performance and productivity of this activity due to the increased traction and improved steering on snow and ice

• Lift cylinder/ side shift accumulators

OPTIONAL FEATURES

• Moldboard with overload clutch detects pressure spike allows blade to pass by an object and return to original position

COLD WEATHER START UP

• Charge air cooler with air intake grid heater

• Cold start up to -2.2°F (-19°C)

• Air cleaner/pre-cleaner with scavenge line and safety element

• Variable fan speed temperature-controlled fan

- A temperature switch built into the hydraulic fan circuit bypasses oil based on low oil temperatures

- This significantly improves engine & hydraulic warm-up in cold weather

OPERATOR FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT

• Standard 7” LCD touchscreen steering column mounted display for machine metrics, operator adjustments, backup camera, and more

• New “floating” side console to integrate membrane key-pad, HVAC, rotary knob throttle control, and other controls

• TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) provides quick and easy current pressures for each tire

• Side console oriented for operator’s perspective and improved function control

• Reduced operator fatigue, increased comfort and adjustability with the new EH joysticks controls, with adjustable armrests

• ROPS/ FOPS cab – SAE J231, ISO 3449; Cab equipped w/ two fully swinging doors for both side access

Case: Front Articulation Competition: Rear Articulation

DRIVE MOTOR/ENCAPSULATED SLEWING RING

The standard drive motor features a direct mount design, and the Heavyduty circle drive option features an overload clutch to protect against impacts, mounted to stout boxed/welded A-frame.

The overload clutch will absorb extreme shocks from obstacles such as rocks, manholes, and more, and allow the blade to rotate until it is past the obstacle then return to its original position.

• Encapsulated slewing ring provides protection against debris for increased wear life and leverage when turning under load. Sealed so no debris can enter

• Slewing ring utilizes heavy-duty roller bearings with internal gearings, sealed and self-adjusting vs. competitor brands using wear shims, reducing downtime

• Wide A-Frame drawbar provides ample support

• Four spacers provide accurate circle mounting while limiting friction

SERVICEABILITY

• The easier it is to perform maintenance, the more likely it will be accomplished. CASE Motor Graders are the industry leaders in serviceability

- CASE DNA includes grouped service points for easy access and routine filling of fuel, DEF fluid, oil checks, and hydraulic gauges

- A One-piece easy flip-up hood provides ample access to all maintenance points

- Ground line serviceability to view all daily check maintenance points

PERFORMANCE

• F4H 6.7L FPT NEF engine utilizes VHP, or Variable Horsepower Technology, which selects the ideal power/torque curve for the operation

• The 836D and 836D AWD are rated at 156 max horsepower

• The 856D and 856D AWD are rated at 193 max horsepower

• The ZF Ergo transmission is a full powershift transmission with a torque converter which drives more like an automobile and won’t stall the engine. With less operator training and increased operator confidence during operation

• The transmission features 6 forward and 3 reverse gears, all can be manually bump shifted via an electronic control or can be shifted automatically

• Tier 4 Final emission system consists of a DOC and SCRoF, (Selective Catalytic Reduction on Filter) with no active regeneration or CEGR and exceeds all emissions standards in North America

ENHANCED OPERATOR CONTROLS

• Electro-hydraulic joystick controls to control the entire machine, all blade, attachment, and steering controls on joysticks and at the tip of the operators’ fingers, eliminating the need for the operator to take their hand off the controls

• Powershift transmission provides smooth and simple operation for new or experienced operators

• Electronic transmission control allows manual bump shifting or computer controlled automatic shifting

• Torque converter prevents stalling under heavy loads

CONNECTIVITY

• CASE SiteConnect™ Module advanced modem with 4G

• Real-time monitoring through SiteWatch

• Check fault codes, sensor readouts, other machine vitals

• Remote Service Tool when paired to SiteManager app

• Reduces diagnostic time, and reduces machine downtime

MULTIPLE ATTACHMENTS AVAILABLE

• Rear-mounted ripper

• Blade-mounted scarifier

• Front-mounted push blade

• Front Counter-Weight

• 2-foot right side blade extension
