BUSINESS MANAGEMENT MANAGEMENT - BACK IN BUSINESS In Southeast Michigan, employers have strong and growing demand for business managers. In the first nine months of 2015, regional employers have already posted 6,298 open positions related to business management— more postings than the full year of 2014. Employment in the field is growing at a steady rate and more openings are created every year. About 22% of business managers are at least 55 years old and will likely retire in the next five to ten years. There are expected to be an average of 1,300 openings per year between now and 2020. These jobs often require or prefer an individual with a Bachelor’s degree, however, this is an excellent opportunity for students to start their career with a two-year program at a local community college.

Current workers in business management have a starting annual salary of $47,130. This is higher than the median family income in the region. With experience, annual earnings can grow upward of $100,000, a very competitive salary.
