CEO LETTER
“WE’RE CREATING OUR FUTURE.”
We’re proud to present our 2030 vision to the community on the one-year anniversary of our launch as Greater Winston-Salem, Inc. The formation of Greater Winston-Salem, Inc. was not the end of one organization and the beginning of another – it was the turning of a page in Winston-Salem’s story. We are a community built by entrepreneurs, innovators, educators, and artists. We’re constantly pushing forward- creating a community that’s resilient and thriving. But we recognize the world has changed – just look at the last year - and we must take bold new actions to become the community we want to be. We will be the top mid-size city in the southeast. We will be a more equitable community. We will be the best place to raise a family. We know these goals are lofty. But when our community works together, there is nothing we cannot achieve. This vision is possible through our comprehensive plan of strategies and tactics that include aggressive economic recruitment efforts, a renewed focus on helping our existing companies grow, and innovative efforts to recruit and retain top talent. We will share the story of Winston-Salem with the entire country and advocate for the best business environment possible. With an engaged board, dedicated staff, and committed community, we will make a difference with our efforts - but it will take all of us. We hope you will join us in the pursuit of these goals, and we look forward to seeing all that we will become, together. MARK OWENS President & CEO
