The Competition Mecklenburg-Vorpommern showed its Scottish side during this early weekend in May, when close to 100 of the best German student golfers met to compete for single and team scores, as well as to qualify for the World University Championships (WUC). The WINSTONlinks, one of the three courses of WINSTONgolf, situated about 2 hours from Berlin and Hamburg, was in immaculate condition. The men played from the black markers at a length of 6.458 meters, the women from red at a total length of 4.856 meters. Despite the strong winds and partially rainy conditions the winners Max Krämer (+4.2) and Merle Kasperek (+1.8) scored well with 146 strokes for Max and 153 for Merle. The University of Hohenheim proved to have the best golf team for this very special course, designed by David Krause with 100% pure fescue seeding, fast greens, high dunes, and rolling fairways. It has been the first stroke play tournament on the WINSTONlinks entering its 4th season this year, so the one under score of Max also represents the first official course record.
