THE PARMO SHOP OPENS IN BATH

MAX HALLEY & ETHAN DAVIDS are bringing a taste of Middlesbrough to their new pub in Bath, THE SAM WELLER'S.

Max and Ethan are bringing (Middlesbrough’s finest) parmos to Bath because 'there ain’t no treat like a breaded meat' and as Max says, "Why should the people of Middlesbrough be the only ones to have pizzas made of meat?".These amazing creations are essentially large pork (or aubergine) schnitzels slathered in tomato sauce, béchamel and then covered in cheese and fantastic pizza toppings.

Max says "especially after a beverage or two, there is literally nothing on planet earth I’d rather eat, bearing in mind I’ve already had a sandwich".

As their pub, The Sam Weller’s, lets people bring in their own food, The Parmo Shop’s breaded meat treats will of course be able to be ordered, delivered to and consumed on the premises, with similar plans for their Salisbury pub, The Five Bells.

The menu is available to order at the pub or (coming soon) to have delivered to your home via a wellknown delivery app.

The Parmo Shop will be available on Wednesday to Friday evenings (7-10pm) and all day on Saturday and Sundays (12-10pm). The Parmo Shop will launch on a delivery app and the concept will be rolled out to The Five Bells in Salisbury in the coming months.

THE BEST PUBS IN THE WORLD

With a mutual love of the great British boozer and wishing to move away from the typical gastropub model, sandwich King and TV chef, Max Halley, and publican, Ethan Davids joined forces in November 2021 to start opening pubs together.

Max and Ethan met at Ethan’s pub The Grosvenor Arms in Hindon, and the idea to open simple and wonderful boozers serving pints, bags of crisps (Scampi Fries particularly) and pickled eggs was born. Their first opening was The Five Bells in Salisbury, where Ethan grew up. Described by the duo and locals alike as ‘The Best Pub in the World’, The Five Bells has stripped wooden floors, Persian rugs and button velvet banquettes. They serve pints of lager, local ales in a glass with a handle and the only food you’ll find on the menu will be scampi fries, scotch eggs, an occasional hot sausage and, of course, pickled eggs.

This year they took possession of the Sam Weller’s in Bath which opened softly in May 2022. Sitting on Upper Borough Walls in the centre of town, the pub has been given a makeover with the addition of contemporary artwork, dark blue colour palette, cast iron tables and classic pub stools. Like the Five Bells, the duo have added velvet banquette seating and a selection of street side tables and chairs out front.
