Leadership in a volatile world
>>> Wednesday, June 8
Ty Garrison, senior vice president of operations, Commercial Metals Co. will discuss how the last few years have strained businesses across the globe as Covid forced companies to deal with events, including virtual work, burn out, unprecedented supply chain disruptions and volatile markets.
The need to successfully navigate these situations puts immense pressure on leadership at every level of an organization. He will explain why there is a need to shift our mindset and view the pressures of leading a team as a privilege rather than a burden, leaders rise to the occasion and companies thrive.
Garrison started with Commercial Metals Co. in 2007 as general manager CMC Rebar Arizona. In 2010, he was promoted to director of sales West Region, then director of rebar operation Southeast in 2011, then vice president West Region-CMC Americas in 2012 before his promotion in 2015.
Commercial Metals Co, a steel and metal manufacturer based in Irving, Texas, has a wide range of mill products that include wire rod. Its products are used in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, construction, energy, heavy equipment and infrastructure. CMC was the first steel manufacturer to introduce vertical integration in the United States, then adapted the concept for Europe.
