“A CLEAR LIGHT”: “Walkway in Fall” by Claudia Fouse Fountaine, above, and “Open House” by Gail Bracegirdle, below, will be featured in a dual exhibition of their paintings, running January 7 to 31 at the Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville.

Artists’ Gallery to Host “A Clear Light” Exhibit

The Artists’ Gallery of Lambertville will be showing work by Gail Bracegirdle and Claudia Fouse Fountaine from January 7 to 31 in the exhibition “A Clear Light.”

Bracegirdle said she enjoys working in watercolors because of the environmentally sensitive nature of the medium. She likes to experiment with various textures and types of watercolor papers and pigments to create specific effects. The subjects vary, depending on each day’s distractions.

Fouse Fountaine is an award-winning Bucks County artist known for her colorful depictions of animals, interiors, and local landscapes. This show features all new work from her, done during the pandemic. Smaller in scale than usual, these paintings reflect a somewhat distilled vision, or a “clearer light.”

The Artists’ Gallery is located at 18 Bridge Street in Lambertville. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no opening reception.

ACP Presents “2020 Member Exhibition”

The ACP also invites the community to join Adam Welch, executive director, and Maria Evans, artistic director, for a Virtual Opening Reception and gallery tour on Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m.

The “2020 Member Exhibit” runs through December 19.

Artsbridge Distinguished Artists Series: “Winter Scenes”

Artsbridge’s annual Members’ Winter Solstice celebration was to be another casualty of COVID-19 until the Michener Art Museum came to the rescue. This year the artists will celebrate the “return of the light” with the masters of capturing that light: the Bucks County impressionists.

On Thursday, December 17 at 7 p.m. participants will have the opportunity to walk through some magnificent winter landscapes painted by acclaimed artists Edward Redfield, George Sotter, Fern Coppedge, and more in “Pennsylvania Impressionists of Bucks County: Winter Scenes.”

The community is invited to join Artsbridge and the Michener docent, Alice Lawler, as she brings the snow scenes, stories, and color commentary about the artists and their work into their homes via Zoom.

Registration through the Michener Art Museum is open until December 10. There is a $10 museum registration fee. Once registered, participants will receive a Zoom link, and a reminder close to the event date. Register online at michenerartmuseum.org. Go to the calendar and click on December 17. For questions regarding registration, email Melissa at MSandquist@MichenerArtMuseum.org.

Lawler has been bringing her love of art and detailed research to Michener visitors as an enthusiastic volunteer docent for 12 years. Currently a member of the Docent Advisory Council, she was a docent for Fonthill Castle and the Wharton Esherick Museum. She also volunteered for Art Goes to School and served as New Hope Art League treasurer.
