Argyll continuously invests in research and development and deploys the most robust and advanced risk monitoring technology. Personal risk management requires more than just software or devices, it requires a holistic approach to all aspects of working or living alone. This is why Argyll has developed Communicare Options to satisfy five key principals: • Risk Management • Location Management • Solution Management • Incident Management • Compliance Management

About Communicare What is Communicare? Communicare is an award winning risk management and telecare solution that is simple to use and operate. Modular by design, it discreetly monitors the day-to-day health, safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals and lone workers. This is achieved by managing identified risks and empowering users with a simple facility to update daily activities; monitoring their geographic location using passive and active technologies and indicate in real-time where higher risk activities are being undertaken. Communicare can ensure a users safety following completion of every task and enables users to summon urgent assistance from colleagues, friends or emergency response providers if the situation arises.

4

Why do I need Communicare? Everyone deserves to feel safe and we all have a right to feel safe within the community in which we live and work. Employee’s operating in the community can be exposed to higher risk throughout the course of a normal day and are entitled to receive an equivalent safe system of work as their office based colleagues. Apart from the obvious improvements in staff morale and employee relations, the employer is compelled by law to ensure that adequate risk assessments are carried out and a robust risk management solution implemented. If they fail to do this they may find themselves to be in breach of the current health & safety legislation and thereby incurring severe financial penalties and other commercial risks. More and more people choose to live independently during illness; others live alone or engage in active lifestyles. Through day to day lifestyle or leisure activities people may expose themselves to higher risk or encounter feelings of vulnerability perhaps caused by medical conditions, the fear of crime or susceptibility to accident. These concerns need to be assuaged for both themselves and their loved ones. Using Communicare means that during time of need these individuals can rely upon someone to assist them. 5

What does Communicare deliver? Communicare centres upon a unique tiered risk management system, enabling individuals to indicate current risk status. An integrated location management platform enables the responder to identify the user location, plus a dedicated response facility with tailored escalation protocols for each individual user. Following a risk assessment, the modular design of Communicare enables individuals or risk managers to choose the appropriate service options based on their requirements.

Communicare Options A Robust Safety Service Begins with Risk Assessments Everyone carries out a risk assessment depending on the nature of the task. For employers it is a legal requirement that they carry out proper risk assessments to ensure that these risks are recognised. They must then take steps to avoid or control them, including the risk of reasonably foreseeable violence. For individuals our risk assessments may be less formal but are no less important. That is why Communicare supports 5 options. Communicare offers subscribers the flexibility to proactively indicate 4 layers of risk management: • Green Risk: The fundamental Duty of Care risk ensuring safe return • Amber Pre-alert: Catering for temporary higher risk activities and locations • Amber Managed: A timed risk function enabling Communicare to actively monitor your safe exit from an Amber risk activity • Red Risk: Identifying potential problems and trigger escalation processes.
