The Fisherman, the fish and the Shark By Winston Johnson

Once upon a time there was a fisherman named Santiago. Santiago was not a very lucky fisherman for he had gone many days and nights without catching a single fish.

The next day Santiago when far out in the ocean to see if his luck would change. He baited his line and let sink it sink deep into the water. So he waited and waited and waited but nothing happened.

He waited so long it felt like an eternity had gone by. And just as he was about to reel it in the line tightened,it zigged and zagged all over the place. He shouted in excitement “I’ve got something!

And what a fish he had for the fish touted his little boat all over the place. The fish touted him for 3 days and nights but he was determined to get his prize even if it was the last thing he did.

On the third and final day of the fight Santiago was able to reel him in and aboard the boat. Where he tied him up and headed back to the way he came. But little did he know that something was coming his way.

While Santiago was fighting the fish a shark in the distance smelled and could feel the shocks from the fight and decided to check it out. It took time before he finally reached Santiago.

Santiago saw the shark coming closer and closer to his boat and the fish. He tried to row away but the shark was to fast and was right next to him now. Then the shark attacked ripping a piece of meat off the fish.

The shock from the attack was so great it rocked his little boat back and forth. But the next time Santiago was ready and when the shark struck he struck hitting him bashing him. Santiago was determined not to let the shark have his fish so he put all his might into his final blow on the shark's head and the shark sank to the bottom of the ocean. He had won the fight and continued to sail back home safely.
