CANCER RESEARCH UK Shine Night Walk Cancer Research UK wants the best-ever route every year for its biggest fundraising event of the year. As consultants to the in-house events team, we create a marathon (26.2 mile) course through central London, which takes in every one of the ‘Top 10 London Sights’ (according to Time Out) - and many, many more. As well designing the route, we advise on marshals, stewarding, road closures, H&S, stakeholder consultation, signage and Pit Stops On event night, we worked with the Event Control Director to ensure that Shine ran safely and smoothly. The results of the latest event (2014) were 16,000 participants, £4.6 million raised and a route rated by the majority of participants as the ‘best’ in the event’s five-year history.

RNIB New Mass Participation Event As part of its 150th Anniversary celebrations in 2018, the Royal National Institute of Blind People would like to create a new mass participation fundraising event. We are offering them Phases 1 to 3 of our consultancy plan, to help them to assess the current market, their assets, how these two might fit together - and take shape in a host of event concepts.

CANAL & RIVER TRUST New Mass Participation Event
The Canal & River Trust is looking for ways to use the waterways it manages to host grass roots sports and physical activity of all kinds. We are working with them to scope out an innovative mass participation concept which will, if found to be viable, launch in 2016.

GUIDE DOGS Dogs Unite Guide Dogs wanted to launch its main fundraising campaign brand - Dogs Unite - in style. We created a family-friendly day at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park which combined spectacular sponsored walk routes with a huge Festival of all things canine - from dog shows and displays to trade stalls and children's activities. The heroic effort of every dog - big or small - was recognised with their very own super hero cape! 96.7% of the 2,285 participants rated the event either 4 or 5 out of 5 (66.7% were 5s). Twitter interactions for the day reached 2.8 million people. In the words of the client : “Dogs Unite was an epic event - I was in awe of your team’s speed and efficiency.”

SAMARITANS Event Creation Consultancy Samaritans wanted to create a new owned event brand, designed to make the most of an important legacy fund. We worked with the charity through the first three stage of our four-stage consultancy process, looking at the marketplace (and how that fits with Samaritans’ audience), concept development and initial scoping. As well as identifying a market (intensive exercisers) and ensuring the event’s appeal (with features such as a state-of-the-art timing system), we scoped a mobile-first website, the CRM systems and an initial marketing and PR campaign. The current concept aims for a first-year participant target of over a 1,000 and a fundraising target of £1m over three years.
