LETTER FROM CO-CHAIRS Dear Sponsors and Guests, If you have ever attended our What She’s Made Of event, you know how fun, inspiring, and powerful it is. At the start of this year, we were so excited to announce our best event yet. As it turned out, though, this year has been very different than we imagined! Throughout 2020, we’ve seen how a pandemic of this scale uniquely impacts women and how vital women’s voices and female leadership are during times of crisis. Despite this, only 27% of elected offices are held by women. As this August marks the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote, it’s past time for this to change! So welcome to a very special virtual What She’s Made Of event focused on the critical importance of women’s civic engagement. This inspiring online event will include special guests, music, and a dynamic keynote panel featuring women in our community who have run for elected office. As Co-Chairs of this event, we would like to thank our amazing Executive Director, Sheri Scavone, her staff, and our Committee, whose dedication and passion brought this beautiful event to life. Thank you also to our Board, especially Chairwoman Andrea Vossler, for their commitment to our mission of creating a culture of possibility for women and girls. Most of all, we thank you—our sponsors and guests. Your support funds our nonstop efforts to create significant change for the lives of women and girls in Western New York and beyond. We believe this is a unique and special time in history for women and girls, and tonight we celebrate the incredible strides that are possible when women join together. Your co-chairs, Terri Bair & Susanna Schenk
