Tracie is thrilled to be painting a mural at the Thurgoona Community Centre’s hall as it is literally around the corner from her home. She is familiar with the area and has been active in the community as a member of the Thurgoona Community Action Group. The mural Creatures in the Community identifies several species native to the region, some common and others lesser known to the broad public. THE ARTIST Tracie has been practising as a professional artist from her studio at GIGS Artists’ Studios since 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her primary medium of choice is painting using oils with her works taking on a narrative-based theme. Tracie has held regular exhibitions as well as created murals both locally and interstate. Two of Tracie’s great passions in life are the environment and painting. It is her strong belief that artists and the process of making art has the potential to point out the importance of environmental integrity through speaking to emotion and a passion for nature.
