There’s more to see Upstream - Tamara Murray
Albury + Wodonga Artworks under way
Mural artwork by Tamara Murray Wagirra Trail Padman Park between Bungambrawatha Creek and Kremur St Boat Ramp near the bat colony
Albury-Wodonga has far more to see beyond the mighty Murray River. A place rich in history, culture, arts and nature. A place where people come together - to meet, to holiday, to celebrate the strong community spirit that exists across the two cities. A place where First Nations peoples and their culture and connection to country is respected and celebrated. THE ARTIST Tamara May Murray is a proud member of the Barkindtji and Muraroah tribe on her mother’s side, the Yorta Yorta and Dhudaroah tribes on her father’s side. She grew up on the Namatjira mission in the small country town of Coomealla. For Tamara, her art is not simply paint on a canvas. It’s a story, it’s a place, it’s someone she has met along the way that has inspired her. It’s a deep connection to the land and her culture. It is a story that has been passed down.
