Seven Cases pays respect to the more than 300,000 migrants who passed through the doors of the Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre between 1947 and 1971.

Seven Cases

THE ARTIST Yvonne spent her formative years on a New Zealand sheep farm and in a small coastal town, where she became an avid collector of natural forms. From the drying seedpods found in creek beds to the eroded, polished, and or skeletal forms washed up along the rugged west coast - the land and sea soon cluttered her room and became the inspiration behind her creative expression. Undertaking a Bachelor of Ceramics in Bendigo, she began producing figurative forms which is where her sculpting career began. A few years after graduating - her work, methods and materials developed and expanded from ceramics to using steel, copper, bronze, aluminum, cement, stone and more recently resin. Strengthened by 30 years’ experience as a fulltime professional artist and sculptor, Yvonne works out of her gallery located at Bendigo Pottery in Epsom. As organic forms continue to inspire her works, she says her sculptures and art will always be changing and developing.
