introduction
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Woman of Wonder
The quality of a woman’s life is affected by internal and external resources. Resources, such as knowledge, training and honed skills, are vital to a woman seeking parity in today’s world. Add the challenge of paying for college to gain that next career step with the responsibility of supporting and caring for a family and you have seemingly insurmountable odds.
The internal fortitude to continue to seek a college degree despite, in some cases overwhelming odd – plus the additional challenge of a global pandemic – amazed us as we learned, through our survey of scholarship applicants, that despite the obstacles, most did not take a gap year, but continued their studies.
Woman of Wonder seeks to level the playing field with scholarships that bridge the gap between the everyday duties of a woman’s life and a chance to develop a rewarding career.
Our saddest news was the death in March of one of our founding board members, our Secretary/Treasurer Kenneth M. Doane. He did so much of the heavy lifting to get us launched, and his wise counsel demonstrated how important board members are to a nonprofit.
In 2020, the donor base of individuals remained strong. During COVID-19, office space held its own albeit with fewer activities, and we continued to work on corporate in-kind grants. Women of Wonder’s mission continued to resonate with enough community members that we were able to triple the dollars awarded for scholarships.
Thank you for your continued support to help women gain college degrees.

SUMMARY
Woman of Wonder
Second year awarding college scholarships As we move forward, encouraging more women, opening more doors, and lighting more paths, we are grateful to the many who joined our Founders Club with a contribution in our first two years. This support allowed us to triple the amount of dollars awarded in our second year. This support of women, as they pursue avenues to increase their earning potential and workplace marketability, benefits all of us.
We can’t predict who will finish their degrees, or who may stumble, but we move forward with confidence that increasing the chances of degree completion has payoffs more than dollars and cents. We ask that you consider being part of this educational legacy and join us with your support. Build a better community and stronger families by supporting college scholarships for women.
As we invest in their college, award recipients learn that someone believes in them. Children are mentored as they watch their parent set and achieve goals.
