UK LEADERSHIP CIRCLE The Leadership Circles are leaders from a variety of backgrounds who collectively serve as key partners in Women for Women International’s mission to move women victims of war from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency. The Circles provide a forum for informed, active engagement in the organisation and its life-changing work. Membership is by invitation only. Members support Women for Women International (WfWI) in a variety of ways. Local activities and events will help form the building blocks for developing a cohesive UK and in the future European community of like-minded and dedicated leaders, all working on the mission and vision of WfWI. Goals and objectives To further the goals of WfWI in London, the London Leadership Circle (LC), through its interesting and dynamic members will aim to:
Fundraise: host events to introduce friends and colleagues to Women for Women International to increase the organisation’s resources and broaden our reach in the community. Raise Awareness: reach out to local media outlets to bring attention to Women for Women International’s mission, including advocacy and research efforts; Amplify Voices: provide local leadership of advocacy campaigns, by contacting local thought leaders and policy makers.
We aim to create a stimulating forum for LC Members to keep them connected, interested and continually bringing new members to WfWI. Structure of Leadership Circle
The Leadership Circle currently has two co-chairs: Marije Serrano-Visser and Lauren Prakke.
Co-chairs report to and work closely with two WfWI Committees: the Development Committee and Policy Committee.
The Leadership Circle currently consists of around 45 LC Members.
LC Members receive regular information updates from our Executive Director, Brita Fernandez Schmidt, which details important upcoming events, talks and reminders. “One woman can change many things. Many women can change everything.”

Members of the Leadership Circle
LC Members are individuals who are well connected in the community and are able to reach and mobilise their social networks to support WfWI.
LC Members can either give or raise £5,000 to qualify for the Leadership Circle. The donation can either be given directly by donating money, or by helping raise the money through events or other ways or by giving in kind.
In return, LC Members will receive exclusive access to interesting events, policy forums, trips to WfWI education centres and most importantly have access to other interesting and dynamic WfWI Members in the UK and around the world.
Members are encouraged to attend 3 events per year but whilst we would love for you to make this commitment, if you would prefer to make a financial commitment alone due to time pressures, you will still have full LC membership.
LC Members are asked to sponsor a woman in a country of their choice.
The Leadership Circle is an open forum where all LC Members’ ideas and views are highly valued and creative ideas for raising money and increasing support are highly encouraged.
The money raised through the Leadership Circle will be invested to allow the organisation in the UK to grow, strengthening its presence in the UK. This in turn will enable us to raise more funds for the life changing work in countries affected by conflict and establish us a the go-to organisation for advice on women in conflict affected areas for policy makers.
