It’s Not Just for Cars!

When you think of window tinting, you probably think of vehicles. Here’s something you may not have considered: All the advantages of window film on your car can also apply to window film on your home. Jay Heffelfinger, owner of Professional Glass Tinting, is more than happy to enhance the performance of the windows in your home. Jay started in the business by working for a shop that tinted car windows. Not completely satisfied with that line of work, Jay struck out on his own, opening Professional Glass Tinting in 1994. He never looked back, and his successful business is still going strong.

What is window film? It consists of a transparent film that is carefully applied to the interior surface of the glass. The film that Jay applies to windows comes with a lifetime warranty, so it is a “one and done” process with the best products in the business. “You won’t be able to tell there is film on your windows, but you will have a clearer view with no glare,” Jay says. He will fully clean and prepare the glass before installation, so you will have a clear view, distortion free.
There are many reasons to tint the windows in your home. The UV rays will damage or destroy furniture, fabrics, flooring, woodwork, and about everything the sunlight touches. Even on cloudy days, the UV rays are still present and are still at work. Of course, the UV protection that window film provides is not limited to your belongings—it also protects your skin from the rays that can lead to eye and skin problems.
Tinting your windows also greatly eases the burden on the HVAC system in your home and positively impacts your energy savings. In the summer months, a professionally installed window film blocks a significant portion of the heat from direct sunlight. In the winter, the window film decreases the amount of interior heat lost through the glass. In this way, window film helps maintain optimal indoor temperatures and can drive down your energy bills, no matter what the season.
An advantage to window film that I particularly appreciate is how it won’t obstruct my view. I love having lots of windows in my house, and I love the sunlight, so I often have my curtains and blinds open. Window film gives me all the benefits of natural light without the disadvantages of UV radiation harming my skin, artwork, furnishings, and floor coverings. It’s the perfect solution.
Another bonus to tinting your windows is privacy. With untreated glass, anyone walking by can see directly into your home. This can be especially problematic if someone
approaches your home when you have Jay Heffelfinger, Owner the front door open and just the storm door closed. However, if the glass in your storm door is tinted, you can enjoy the light streaming in without sacrificing your privacy.
“The rewards of my work come from making people happy and giving them honest answers and honest options for each of their unique needs,” Jay shares. “I listen to my clients and find out what their specific circumstances are so I can give them the best recommendation for their budget. I think people would be surprised at how affordable window tinting is and how little time it takes.”
In addition to their residential clients, Professional Glass Tinting also works with commercial clients who want to bring energy savings and UV protection to their businesses. Shop owners love being able to display products near the windows without having to worry about rotating them to keep them from being damaged by the sun!
Professional Glass Tinting has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 1998, and Jay takes great pride in always offering the best products and service. Jay can tackle small jobs or big jobs in your home, office, or store. He has films that provide heat control, safety and security, and protection from glare and UV rays, and he can do it with clear, blackout, opaque, frosted, or decorative films. There are dozens of window film options to choose from.
