49er Update

It’s hard to believe we’re already in the second month of 2025!

Despite the chilly weather, we had a great turnout for January golf. A few brave souls even kicked off the new year with a round on Jan. 2—hot chocolate was definitely needed, but a good time was had by all!

On Jan. 9, we played a game of “Throw Out Your Worst Hole.” Jan Campbell took 1st place, with Meg McKenzie in 2nd and Dora Shoemaker finishing 3rd. It was a fun format, though some of us wished it had been “Throw Out Three Holes!”

Jan. 16 was stroke play, where Kathy Cockayne claimed 1st place, Donna Aarons took 2nd, and Jackie Katzakian came in 3rd.

Jan. 23 was all about low putts. Nancy Little and Kathy Cockayne tied for 1st, while Lynn Stroh finished 3rd.

We wrapped up the month on Jan. 30 with stroke play on the River Course. Our big winners—tying for 1st—were Kathy Cockayne and Jan Campbell, while Donna Aarons finished 3rd. Looking back, it’s safe to say Kathy Cockayne is on fire!

There’s plenty of fun on the horizon, including a great Valentine’s event on Feb. 13, hosted by Jennie Fuller and Shannon Hagen
