Dear Friends, Thank you for supporting our student athletes! The Woodlands Christian Academy has a strong history of athletic success, and our competitive sports' programs are popular with our students. Our school’s mission is to equip well-rounded Warriors for Christ - spiritually, academically, physically, and socially to fulfill God’s unique purpose for each of their lives. We offer a challenging Christian college-preparatory education, and athletics are an integral part of our students’ overall school experience. Furthermore, faculty and coaches encourage students daily through strong mentoring relationships. As a result, our students perform extremely well on standardized tests, and graduates receive impressive college acceptances from a wide range of top universities as well as merit-based college scholarships in excess of $104,000 per student for the latest graduating class. Many of our graduates continue to pursue athletics in college. Most importantly, however, our students are challenged to build their lives on the foundation of Jesus Christ. I am so proud of our student athletes, and your encouragement really makes a huge difference to them. Go Warriors and never forget, “The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.” (Judges 6:12b) Serving Him,
Julie H. Ambler Head of School 4

On behalf of the Warrior coaches, staff and student athletes, welcome to the 2017-18 school year! As we start the fall sports' season, our teams have been working hard, on and off the field, in preparation for their athletic competitions.
We encourage our families to come out and support our Warrior athletes. Through exciting athletic events like Homecoming, Tailgates, Pink-out and Peprallies, your participation helps build a strong Christian community where We RELATE, We TRANSFORM and We CELEBRATE our student athletes. GO WARRIORS!

Fall 2017 Warrior Booster Athletic Guide
The Woodlands Christian Academy’s Athletic Department strives to use sports to develop strong Christian leaders both on and off the field of play. By developing goals, selecting mentors for the younger incoming athletes, training captains to become leaders of their sport, and helping student athletes appreciate their God-given talents, as well as discernment for God-given talents of others, we are equipping our Warriors with life skills beyond the sport of play.

Word from the Warrior Booster Chair
Welcome back Warriors! What an incredible start to what is sure to be an amazing year. The Warrior Booster Committee is so excited by the record number of you who have already joined Boosters. Thank you so much for your support of our cause to make this an amazing year for our athletes, coaches, students and yourself! It is not too late to join Boosters. Believe it or not, everyone benefits from being a Warrior Booster. All monies raised go directly to our athletic department, which trickles down through our multitude of sports' programs, including Warrior Leagues for lowerschool. We support the endeavors and goals of our Athletic Director, to provide the best equipment, facilities and coaches to put our student athletes in a winning environment. The Booster Committee and Athletic Department also work closely with our Development Department to provide events to help build school spirit and fellowship. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events. While we strive to continue to maintain and refurbish our athletic equipment and facilities throughout the year, our major goal will be to provide permanent seating for our Warrior Ladies Softball field. It is the only venue on campus without permanent seating. It would be great to give our fans a comfortable place to come out and encourage these athletes! We hope you will consider joining us in supporting our Warrior Athletes - 1st to 12th grade! Please visit the Booster page at www.TWCA.net to join today and find out about sponsorship opportunities available to families and businesses. Praying for a successful year for all TWCA families and friends – GO WARRIORS!

he hope of a Christian school in The Woodlands began in the hearts of local parents and pastors in 1987. By January 1993, with less than $500 in the bank, a committee hired a principal, secured a telephone line, and printed advertising brochures. The Woodlands Christian Academy opened in September 1993 with 150 students from preschool through 6th grade.
I
n 1999, The Woodlands Christian Academy moved to its present 40-acre campus with the construction of the main administrative building and the addition of portable classroom buildings. The high school was also established at that time, and the first class of twelve students graduated in 2001. Today, The Woodlands Christian Academy serves approximately 650 students from preschool through 12th grade. The school is accredited by AdvancED/ACSI and has been designated as an Apple Distinguished School by the Apple Corporation.
CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
A
dditionally, Woodlands Christian has been recognized as a Best Christian Workplace by the Best Christian Workplace Institute. Interfaith of The Woodlands has honored The Woodlands Christian Academy as a Hometown Hero for 2017-2018.
T
he Woodlands Christian Academy is governed by a self-perpetuating Governance Board that represents both God and the moral owners of our school. Moral owners include parents, faculty, and members of the greater Christian community who share the vision for the school and have a vested interest in its success. The Board is responsible for the school’s long-term mission and vision. The Governance Board hires only one employee, the Head of School, and delegates all day-to-day operations through explicit governance polices.

andy Hollas assumed the role of Head Varsity Football Coach for The Woodlands Christian Academy in 2017 after serving as the Athletic Director for the previous eight years.
Coach Hollas grew up in Katy, TX and played baseball and football at Katy High School. He was a unanimous first team all-district quarterback and pitcher for the Tigers. While earning his B.S. in Physics at McMurry University, he was an academic all-conference pitcher. His career in education began at HISD’s Sharpstown Middle and High School where Coach Hollas took over the varsity baseball program at the high school in his second year as a science teacher. During his second season as head coach, he guided the Apollos to the playoffs after finishing 4 – 14 the prior year. After three years at Sharpstown, Coach Hollas was hired by Mike Johnston, former Katy HS head coach, as the quarterback coach and offensive coordinator at Houston Christian High School. During his three years there, the Mustangs made the playoffs twice and beat rival Second Baptist for the first time in more than a decade. Coach Hollas then moved to St. Joseph Catholic School in Bryan, TX., as the head football coach for two years. His team made the playoffs both years and won the first ever 11-man football playoff game against Cypress Christian School in 2008. During his time as Athletic Director at The Woodlands Christian Academy, the athletic programs have grown in the local private school community as well as the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). All boys and girls team sports made the TAPPS playoffs for the past two seasons. This is a first in our school history.
