Hanse Plan update - The wet weather has tested the crew working on the course, but they are still on schedule and moving forward. Today we closed holes #9 & 16. This means the Half-Way House will not be in the rotation of the open holes. Beginning this week, Melena and Heidi will be in a beverage cart at the rest station located at the 3rd tee. Please be sure to visit them during your round.
There are currently 10 holes open for play and they are in great shape! The course is not busy, so come out and enjoy the cool fall temperatures.
Thank you to Assistant Golf Course Superintentant Scott Strong for the photos. For more photos (and some videos!) in our google drive, click here.
Hole #10- Original sand bunker discovered at the back- left of the green
Hole #10- The crew was able to find the original bunker sand and follow it to create the original shape
Hole #15 - Tee box. The 1925 US Open Tee can be seen next to the rain shelter.
The crew has done an amazing job utilizing the material taken from the #11 green complex and blending it in around the 15th tee to make it look natural and like it has been that way forever!
I encourage you to sign-up for the Course Walk this Saturday at 4:30pm. Brad Klein will take us on a walk of the construction site and give us the designer’s insight on the work being completed. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages while taking part in club history. Sign up on the web site, app or call the club to reserve your spot. See you at the Club!

Ogg in the house!
In case you missed it, this summer assisting our Professional Staff was a young lad known as Ty Mancuso. Ty is the great, great-grandson of Willie Ogg. Willie Ogg from Carnoustie, Scotland served the members at Worcester Country Club as our head professional from 1921-1946.
Willie was instrumental in Worcester Country Club’s hosting of the 1925 US Open and the 1st Ryder Cup in 1927. At Willie Ogg’s farewell dinner on November 18, 1944, our then Club President, Wallace Montague gave due credit to Willie for “putting Worcester Country Club on the golfing map.”
