Closure of Putting Greens In assessing the long range weather forecast, we have reached the time of year that we believe it is appropriate to close our putting greens for the season and move to temporary greens. This will take place on Monday, December 7th. The golf course will still be open for those that want to walk and play to hole locations on the approaches. The forecast indicates night time temperatures below freezing for the foreseeable future. At this point, our finely managed turf grasses will not be growing any longer, and the ability for the turf to recover from traffic through growth is lost. The concern is that foot traffic on greens will cause more rapid wear injury under these conditions. Wear can have a cumulative effect on our putting greens and leave them more susceptible to other potentially damaging winter conditions such as desiccation, low temperature kill, ice, crown hydration, and traffic injury on wet, frosted, frozen or thawing soils. Greens are being top-dressed with sand before the incoming rain and snow this weekend. Tees and approaches have been top-dressed to help protect those surfaces as well. We have also made our final plant protectant applications. Thank you everyone for another great season, and thank you to our dedicated golf course maintenance team for all they have done this year! HOLIDAY SHOPPING AT THE PRO SHOP Greetings, As we head into the holiday season it is certain that this year will be different than any other before. With that being known we are preparing for the upcoming shopping season with the safety and wellbeing of everyone in mind. You will find our holiday schedule with our hours of operation on the next page. We encourage everyone to complete their holiday shopping early this season if possible. Avoiding the last minute rush or any possible disruptions to normal business operations would be beneficial to everyone. In addition to normal operations we are also offering the following: Shopping by appointment - You can schedule a 45 minute block of time for you and your family members to have the pro shop exclusively. Two separation sessions - Wednesday through Friday at 9 and 9:45am. The pro shop will open at 10:30 for regular shopping with a maximum of 8 people at any one time until closing at 4:00pm. We are also offering virtual shopping by appointment. Virtual shopping can be arranged via phone, FaceTime, or Google Meets. Please contact the pro shop to schedule a time. Phone: 508-8535087. Your purchases can be gift wrapped and left in your locker, delivered to your home or office, or left on the front porch of the pro shop for contactless shopping. Please be reminded that face coverings must be worn at all times while inside the pro shop. Gift wrapping is always available and free of charge. In addition, all pro shop credit and gift certificates for merchandise must be redeemed before the end of the year (12/31/20).

Gift Card Donations for Abby's House Due to Corona Virus Protocols, the December Ladies’ Luncheon, which traditionally honors Abby’s House, has been cancelled. Unfortunately, we cannot meet to hear about the work of Abby’s House this year; however, our tradition of helping will continue. Please lend your support for the good work of Abby’s House by making a donation of a $25 gift card or cards. A basket has been placed in the Dining Room near the Hostess Stand for you to drop off your cards anytime between now and December 15th. The clubhouse is open Wednesday through Saturday for drop off.
